Palm Beach beauty for budget travelers with all-inclusive plans
Upgrading to all-inclusive is an option at the All Inclusive - Holiday Inn Resort Aruba, and the family-friendliness is generous (kids under 12 stay free with their parents). But, with a location this good, venturing out to explore Aruba's restaurants and shopping opportunities adds value to one's stay. Of course, with four restaurants and three bars, a spa and fitness center, and a slew of beach and pool activities, it may be hard to leave. The resprt offers recreation facilities such as zero-entry swimming pool with two Jacuzzis, equipped fitness center, four lighted and one non-lighted tennis courts, children's activity center, shopping arcade, Intermezzo Day Spa, and Excelsior Casino. The resort also offers scuba diving sessions. For meetings and banquet events, function spaces with a maximum capacity of 500 delegates are on offer.
Highlights
  • Zero-entry pools and gorgeous beach area
  • Kids activity center and separate swimming pool allows families to play together
  • Three restaurants and two bars

  • A new adult-only concept, THE Inn Club, is coming on 15 January 2013 and will welcome guests 18 years and older. THE Inn Club will feature new room options with updated decorations and walk-in shower as well as beverage service from Seabreeze Restaurant.

3 Star Hotel with a 5 Star Staff

This was our 8th stay at the Holiday Inn and we will deffinately be returning soon. The hotel is located right in the heart of the High Rise District with tons of shopping, entertainment, and restaurants within a short walking distance. The rooms have been renovated, not a 5 star renovation but for the price you can't go wrong. Rooms are clean and the hotel just upgraded to flat screen tv's and new bedding which includes down alternative comforters and pillows (soft and firm selections both provided). We cannot say enough about the staff from the bellmen to the front desk, bartenders, waitstaff and towel hut attendants. There is plenty of staff that will treat you like royalty. Of course just like anywhere else you will be treated the way you treat them. Although tipping is included with the all-inclusive stay we still tip for the services provided. A dollar for every drink they make us, a couple of dollars to the beach staff for getting our chairs ready and of course the waitstaff for lunch and dinner. The all-inclusive plan is so reasonable that by the time you have breakfast and a couple of drinks it has paid for itself. A GIANT Thank you to the entire 5 Star Staff at the Holiday Inn for making yet another vacation an amazing one!

Money-saving tip: In Hotel

The all-inclusive plan has recently been reinstated at the Holiday Inn and for the price it can't be beat. We paid $60 each per day to add all-inclusive. The breakfast buffet is $20 and drinks are on average $6 - $9 so if you are someone that likes to eat and drink on vacation we would highly reccomend it. Even if you eat somewhere else for dinner or do an all day excursion you will still get your $'s worth.

Never going back

We went there with the baby and we do not recommend to bring the little ones there because the rooms smell bad (mold). We paid for allinclusive they had us pay for " energy charge ". Not happy with the food either, none of the nights all the restaurants were open, if one was open the other one was closed so we weren't happy.

Disappointed

We stayed at the Holiday Inn 5 years ago and loved it, no complaints, so when it came time to book our trip it was a no brainer we would stay at the Holiday Inn again. We were so disappointed this time around the room was awful the musty smell was so strong and the mold and mildew was all over the walls in the bathroom, closet and you could even see on the ceiling of the main sleeping area. Unfortunately this is reason enough for me not to go back as it was disgusting. The staff was not very friendly. The food is good but never saw the restaurants open so we just ate at the buffet. The only thing this hotel has going for them is the set up of the pool being so close to the beach it is awesome and very convenient with the kids. My kids loved the pool.

" great island , poor hotel"

The best island in the world but the hotel had very poor service. The food is below average and the one ALC restaurant was open just two nights out of eight. I'll be back to Aruba but to a different hotel.

beyond awful- don't make this mistake

This was the absolute worst hotel and staff I have ever come in contact with. I don't get many vacation days and they were completely wasted on this trip. Aruba in general is beautiful, but this hotel is a HUGE ripoff and gross. DO NOT STAY HERE! It says all inclusive, but they do not take reservations in advance and we got there on a wednesday (tried to make reservations first thing in the morning) and were only able to eat in one of the restaurants on the night before we were supposed to leave on saturday. EVERYTHING WAS TOTALLY BOOKED- They were rude and wouldn't even put us on a waitlist. This forced us to go out for every single dinner, except for one. It was dirty, they were rude, and I have never come in contact with more miserable staff. Pay an extra $100 or $200 and go to ANY other hotel in Aruba!!! DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE AS WE DID!

good, bad & ugly

Hotel great customer service at desk, bars & restaurants. Hotel needs to be updated.... old looking. Carpet in hallway & room .. should be tile... carpet is gross. Bathroom stalls near beach really tight to get into. All inclusive should mean all drinks.... Not an extra charge for Heineken, Absolute etc. Beach rafts should be included in the all inclusive as well.
