Beauty is only skin deep
Concierge desk, particularly [...], was wonderful. Service in general was good. However, the maintenance in the hotel was pitiful. The hallways were dirty and in dire need of paint. Floor 7 hallways looked like a flophouse. It is sad to see such a beautiful building become so neglected. How could Marriott keep it under their umbrella? I could only recommend this hotel based on the location.

Not So Bueno Aires
This hotel is perfect for you IF: - You are over 60 years old; - You are a member of at least one of the following organizations or interest groups. AARP, local bird watchers, Rotary Club, or believe that C-Span is the best channel on TV; - You are a frequent traveler on cruise lines; - It is NOT your honeymoon; - You do not like a view from your room; - You like being surrounded Americans while being in a beautiful international city; - You like a staff that won't interfere with your visit in trying to help you with any issues that you have; - You are wearing pleated khakis, dock siders, or a t-shirt or sweatshirt with the name of a US college or fraternity/sorority; Hotel Amenities: - Doormen that talk to each other instead of opening the taxi door when you arrive; - Paint that is peeling from the wall in your room (lead or asbestos are apparently optional); - A toilet that flushes while, and because, you are taking a shower or using the sink; - A cleaning staff that will not take away all of the trash under the presumption you might be saving it for later; There is a reason that this hotel is one of the oldest in Buenos Aires and is shows in the rooms, service, management, and overall experience. Signed, Mid-30's global traveler who is on the road over 90 days a year for business alone that lives in downtown New York City.
