Ok

My only issue was the check in time consistency between the website and the hotel. We were emailed to let us know we were allowed to check in at 1. We arrived at 1 and waiting an hour and a half for our room because the hotels check in time was at 2. Also the pool was in need of cleaning and scummy at at the bottom

great choice

Great hotel, great location, great staff....the internet could be quick, but seems to be an issue with most places in Argentina.

FANTASTIC LOCATION

Its a very good hotel, located at walking distance from parks, restaurants, bars and shopping. It has no amenities but has great service, very friendly personnel and good breakfast served in your room. Rooms have the perfect size, enough closets and storage places for your shopping, plus dinning table and kitchenette. Very comfortable

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Lots of restaurants to have dinner, drinks or a good cup of coffee. Some expensive, some less expensive. Wide variety

Great hotel and location for Solo Traveler

I loved the location of this hotel. I could safely walk alone to the restaurants and lounges, even at night, just on the corner. Walking distance to almost everything of interest in Recoleta. The staff was good at English and very helpful with everything I needed. The room was perfect, with the exception of no coffee pot. The daily breakfast brought to the room was simple, but a great way to start the day. The pool was appreciated on the hot days.

Check to see when the English speaking tour of the cemetary is. When I was there it was Mondays and Thursdays at 11am.

A relief

The room we originally booked in Buenos Aires in Palerrmo Soho was extremely noisy, the shower a torture and to cap it off, there was a large cucaracha in the bathroom when we got up the next morning. Thanks to an iPhone and this site we found this place reserved, and shot over by cab. A delight. So clean, with everything we needed and in a great area. The staff were exceedingly helpful and the cleaning ladies so nice and efficient we left a tip for them.

Fantastic stay

Great stay , Location perfect, right next to everything (restaurants, shops bar and the beautiful cometary) 10 min walk to Santa Fe shops. 1 CON: Apartment near to local clubs and bar too noisy If you are a light sleeper this apartment is not for you.

Spacious, nice, and noisy

We were very impressed with Ayres de Recoleta when we first got there - the room was very spacious, the kitchen and breakfest area were very nice, the closet was large, and the room was clean and well-equipped. We enjoyed the daily breakfast delivered to the room, although we would have liked some variety rather than the same exact breakfast tray every morning. We were on Floor 1 (what Americans would call the second floor), and had a significant amount of noise from the room next door, above, and the workspace below. Our neighbors weren't noisy, but we could clearly hear everything the housekeepers were doing, every chair moving, every footstep, etc. This was rather distracting in the mornings, and bothersome at night. Apart from the noise factor, we were very impressed with the space at AdR, and thought the service was adequate although not exemplary[...]lists a promotion of "Free Internet" - the hotel interpreted that to mean free internet on their computers in the lobby, NOT "Free WiFi" as you would assume. WiFi is US $7 a day.

Good value, nice staff

We were in BA for a 10-day vacation. It was our first visit. I booked online through Orbitz and read the recommendations of others before booking. We truly enjoyed our stay. This hotel is located 1/2 block from the Recoletta Cemetary and all the restaurants that line its perimeter. There is also a big cinema with about 17 screens that we used to fill our down time and catch up on movies, too. They're the most incredible cinemas you've ever experienced, too. Recoletta is very popular these days. There are a number of good restaurants of great value (Roti Bar is one) throughout the neighborhood. The hotel was just fine. At least as good as our expectations and probably better. The staff is English speaking and always helpful. Our BA friends stopped to see our room and were quite impressed as well. I would return and recommend it to friends. If you want a "downtown location", you're better off at the Marriott. But we did not find ourselves at a disadvantage by being in Recoletta.

When visiting BA, one must be mindful of the fact that this is a big city, not unlike LA in size. Keep your eyes open and always be "streetwise" as, with any large city, there are those who would take advantage of you (pickpockets, scammers, etc.). While there are quite a few homeless (very much like pre-Guiliani New York), they're mostly harmless and in need of a little help, like a Peso, if you have one to spare. The best way to introduce yourselves to BA is to take a city tour when you arrive. Contact the Marriott hotel for the little excursions that they offer. The tours are well priced and operate for about 12 people at the most.
