Nice Hotel

The hotel had a good location in Recoleta, not too far from the great cemetery., and from a Subte (subway) stop, which had good access to both downtown neighborhoods, and Palermo. The breakfast was nice, room was a good size, and the view from the rooftop terrace was great. I checked out a few hours late, and the hotel staff was nice enough to not charge me anything, although they usually charge a half night. I would recommend this hotel to any first time visitor to Buenos Aires.

Sightseeing tip: Not Applicable

Unlike some other big South American cities, like Sao Paulo, the city is very walkable, the city has a very European quality, a mix of Paris, Madrid, and Barcelona. But its not so much grand monuments, museums and plazas, its the typical street, with its historic architectural gems from different eras, in different styles. So skip the Taxi, or even the subway, and do not miss out on the best part of Buenos Aires.

nothing fancy, but clean

staff friendly, limited english skills so be prepared for this. breakfast quite good, location in Recoloeta barrio good, able to find lots to do within walking distance or short cab ride, room small and in need of updating, but clean and everything in working order. i would stay here again.

Buenos Aires Wilton Hotel

The hotel was centrally located. However, it is not a 4 or 5 star hotel. I would probably rate it as a 1 star. The service was great and staff helpful. The breakfast was a good continental breakfast. However, the bathroom was ancient. The bed was a bit uncomfortable. The window did not lock and we spend 45 minutes with the maintance man watching him repair the lock. We asked to move, but they refused. The carpet was old but clean.

Nightlife tip: Short walk from hotel

Be careful of the Taxi's they are not honest. If you call for a taxi let the hotel do it for you. Do not get one off the street. We were nearly rob by the taxi driver.

Great location, great services

The location of this place is perfect. You're in the recoleta district which is safe and tourist friendly. Great bars/restaurants are just a block away. The Florida shopping district is a bit of a way off, but some great (and much more affordable) shopping can be found on Santa Fe street right at the corner. The room was clean with a giant bathroom. NOTE: when ordering a standard room the reservation said it will be a double OR two twin beds. I would call them before arriving to try and reserve one version or the other. We were able to get our choice of a double room, but were told it was no guarantee. Wifi is available in the room but we were charged 20 pesos ($5) for a "24 hour" password. The account worked all week, though, so no complaints there! Free breakfast consisted of pastries, fruit, and toast, but was tasty and sufficient.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

La Cholita, a tasty steak house, is just around the block. Cumana, a nice 'home cooking' style restaurant is right next door to La Cholita. Parilla Peña is a just few blocks away and was the best steak house we went to on the entire trip. All of these restaurants are very reasonably priced, though many are cash only so be aware.
