Sandals Grande Antigua Resort & Spa - Luxury All Inclusive

Great place for romance. Location is only 20 minutes from the airport. Beautiful beach and the grounds are picturesque.

What a great resort! From the time we arrived to the time we left, we had a wonderful experience! The friendly staff was always helpful and happy to make our experience the best it could be. The variety of entertainment and food was a surprise, something for everyone. The beach was encredible with its white sand and aqua water! This resort has a great option of staying in a room in the Caribean Grove, which is more secluded and quiet, or to be able to stay in the newer Mediterranean section, which is a high rise, plush accommodation with more action for people who like to have activities available throughout the day! All in all we would definitely come back to this resort!

Our first and last Sandals vacation. If you have never been on a luxury vacation you will think it is great. If you have been on one you will understand. Underwhelming is the best word to describe our experience.Food was average at best, alcohol options vary from bar to bar,entertainment was amateur, no nightlife for an adult resort.I am glad we went in the off season, I dont know how you would get reservations, beach chairs, etc. when it was busy, restaurants are very small.If you do decide to go get the butler service, it was the best thing about the trip!! We did cruise around the island and we saw several resorts that we wished we had checked out before we went. We have been married 32 years and felt like the parents, there are alot of newlyweds and not much of an older crowd.

Awesome experience from start to finish. The food, accommodations, and staff were all fantastic.

Our much needed stress free vacation was terrible. The hotel staff was incompetent, inattentive, argumentative, and unorganized. Upon arriving we never received our meet & greet, the concierge check in was overcrowded and understaffed. The original "upgrade" room was unacceptable and the 2 other options were smelly, with faulty faucet/sink. The third chosen room was nicely upgraded but room bar area was infested with knats & already opened bottles of liquor. Our first night we were locked out of our room due to incompetent staff, and we searched for manager for 40 minutes & he never showed to explain/correct situation. We were limited to eating the covered only food because the uncovered was patrolled by insects. This was our 4th Sandals resort and after this experience we will not stay at a 5th and I strongly recommend that readers choose a different resort because this one is NOT worth it. Do your research and invest elsewhere, it appears that the Sandals chain is missing many links, perhaps they've become to confident over the years. Save Your Money !!

This was the 5th all inclusive hotel we have been to and the first Sandals. The hotel, grounds, and beach are beautiful! I can't get over the beach. The food was good, but we were blown away by food in Cabo San Lucas and Riviera Maya, so we expected more. For some reason any fruit was never ripe..strange. Some tips: Beware of the reservation system!! It is horrible to have to deal with when you pay so much. If you dont get down to the lobby or call at exactly 8:30 am when the reservations open, you wont get in. Plus they only let you book for that day and 48hrs in advance. What a hassle. Also, very few umbrellas and the sun is HOT! If you don't claim pool chairs by 8:00am (the latest) you wont get any, or any in the shade. The staff was ok. Some were very polite, while others got to you when they felt like it. Other places we have been the staff is much more professional and they hustle! Drinks were good and they had lots of fun specialty drinks. All said and done, of course we had a nice time, but we are dying to go back to The Royal in Cancun. Don't know if we will come back here.

Over all a good trip. Food was well prepared and presented; drinks were good,service was great and personel were always friendly. A couple times the servers were a little unhappy, but for the most part all were accommodating. We would go back and more than likely upgrade from our deluxe package to the concierge level or above.

Very average resort hotel that didn't deliver good value. Many, many better choices for all-inclusives.

Employees went out of their way to please you.Too many vendors on the beach constntly approaching you. The restaurants which required reservations were hard to book.Not much to do at night.[...] at main bar were especially nice as was the Phillipine young chef at the sushi bar who made our dining experience a very special one.
