The perfect mixture of living with the natural environment and living in luxury.
Tucked into a beautiful, secluded bay in one of the most secluded corners of southwest Antigua, the intimate and quaint Hermitage Bay invites guests to escape the hustle and bustle of life. Whether visiting for the first time or returning as a friend, guests enjoy a sort of members-only exclusivity as if the hotel was built for a select few.
Spanning 16 acres of lush tropical gardens, the eco-chic, luxury hotel provides all the comforts of a five star resort without compromising the natural habitat that thrives around it. The open-air facilities, extensive beach and detached rooms allow you to unwind in isolated luxury. Each of the 7 beachfront suites features a spacious split level lounge and patio, while the large wrap-around decks and private plunge pools are features of the 17 hillside pool suites.
Winner of the 2015 Conde Nast Traveler Gold List, as well as the Trip Advisor's Travelers' Choice Award for Best All Inclusives in the Caribbean (2012); Best Small Hotels (2013), Best Luxury Hotels (2013, 2014), and Best Hotels for Romance (2014), the hotel boasts of accommodating each guests every request.
Whether enjoying lunch by the pool, dining in the beachfront restaurant, or having breakfast in bed, every meal feels privately catered. The menus change daily for lunch and dinner and feature freshly squeezed local juices, locally grown produce, and organic ingredients. At Hermitage Bay, all meals are a la carte and are prepared to order, special requests are encouraged, and the kitchen is always ready to deal with special dietary requests.
Though it is often said that the entire Hermitage Bay experience feels like a pampered massage, guest may also enjoy actual spa treatments influenced by the ancient eastern concept of Chakra at our Garden Spa. Guests can also find stress relief in the onsite fitness center and non-motorized water sports or traveling to one of the two golf courses or nearby floodlit tennis courts or glass-backed squash courts.
Hermitage Bay is about 40 minutes from the airport, 30 minutes from the capital of St. John's and just 10 minutes away from the Jolly Harbour marina complex that offers shops, restaurants, golf and tennis. While the hotel is close enough to accommodate day trips into town or excursions around the island, there is private dirt road that separates Hermitage Bay from the rest of the world.
The serene bay laid the foundation for our guiding principles, including heartfelt concern for the guests, staff and environment, healthy living, and restoration of mind, body and soul. If guests are seeking an authentic tropical spa escape, Hermitage Bay is the definition of easy, island living.

Wonderful Stay!

We loved our visit to Hermitage Bay. The hotel is perfect for couples looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway. The hotel's small size ensures that you can truly relax in a beautiful and lush setting. Unlike larger resorts, you don't have to fight for lounge chairs or prime reservations for dinner. Everything is very relaxd, and the staff is incredibly attentive making sure that you have the perfect, stress-free stay. The accomodations are comfortable and quite spacious. Having a beachfront villa enables you to be just a stones throw from the water. The hillside villas are slightly further from the water but have spectacular views with plunge pools that are perfect for the afternoon sun. They are all done in gorgeous dark wood with a very natural feel to them. The food at the hotel was quite good for the Carribbean and certainly plentiful. There were lots of interesting options at all meals. The only downside of the hotel is that the beach has a lot of shells on it. The water is gorgeous (calm and warm), but you don't have the soft sand that you find at some other resorts. Otherwise, it's a beautiful and quiet private beach that is perfect for relaxing, paddle boaridng, or swimming.

Great all-inclusive resort

The location of the resort is pretty remote, which is great if that is what you are looking for. From the resort, you cannot see any other buildings. There are only 25 suites so there won't be many other guests there either. The beach is pretty nice and the staff did a great job catering to what ever you needed while there. They were quick to come out with towels and cold bottled water and came by frequently in the afternoon with fruit and any kind of drink you may want. The rooms were nice as well. If you are very shy, you may not like the outdoor shower. Although there is a towel rack that hides you from other guests, they could hear you. Nevertheless, there are not many other guests there so it shouldn't be an issue for most. All meals are included. There is only one restaurant at the resort, but it is excellent. It is a sit-down type restaurant. They offer a variety of choices at each meal and the menu changes daily. We were there for 7 days and did not have the same meal twice. The types of food ranged from fresh pasta to fresh local fish to vegetarian dishes. It was quite impressive. During our stay there had been some rain, which led to many mosquitos. This is a problem on the whole island, not just here. Also, at night, there are lots of crickets, big crickets, that make quite a lot of noise. If you are a light sleeper, I suggest some earplugs. Again, this is typical of the whole island. This is a great place for a romantic getaway. Relaxing, remote, and comfortable. The staff goes out of their way to make sure you have everything you need.
