Halcyon Cove - One of the Finest Positioned Hotels in Antigua

There is a beach next to every Rex resort, and the uniquely fascinating Antigua resort of Halcyon Cove is no exception. It is, in so many ways, the dream Antigua hotel, offering you the perfect opportunity to enjoy a romantic stroll by night or a bracing swim before breakfast at an affordable price.

The beach at this Antigua resort on the shores of Dickenson Bay, is one of the most beautiful beaches in the entire Caribbean, never mind the over 300 other beaches that are to be found on this island.

Nonetheless, this is one of the hotels in Antigua that is best placed for day trips around this beautiful island. A stay at the Halcyon Cove by Rex Resorts for your Antigua holidays means plenty of sun, sea and sand.

Everything Antigua Holidays Should Be

You'll always be kept entertained at this Antigua resort, which has plenty to keep you busy. Popular daytime activities include relaxing in the sun, making the most of the resort's beach location, in addition to the many water sports that can also be enjoyed here.

Evenings at this Antigua hotel are equally enjoyable, with delicious food and authentically Caribbean entertainment. Unlike other Antigua holidays, the Halcyon Cove by Rex Resorts boasts the romantic a la carte restaurant Warri Pier. Located on its own pier overlooking the ocean, this is everything Antigua holidays should be.

After you have wined and dined, the elegant Ciboney Lounge is the perfect place to relax and take in some traditional Antiguan culture, whilst the lively Lobby Bar has plenty of music-based entertainment for you to enjoy late into the night.

Halcyon Cove by Rex Resorts is a non-smoking hotel.

Antigua ME come from!! Great STAY!!

Our stay in Antigua was unsurprisingly memorable. Our 7 day excursion at Halcyon Cove in Dickenson Bay was a nice way to end November. We were already pleased with out Rex resort bookings in the past. This hotel was very well kept and rooms spacious. We enjoyed our beach front room since we were easily accessible to fun in the sun! The staff was great especially Roxanne Meyers, SHondelle, chef Eggbert and receptionist Cherobin. We took the all inclusive plan which I think was worth it however there is a big break in food availability from 3:30 to 6:30 which can lead to a growling tummy if you missed lunch! They do offer a tea time hour with some light snacks (with an emphasis on light). There is only 1 a la carte restaurant which is very nice however the meals on the menu are limited as some of the best dishes are not available on the all inclusive plan which meant that you had to pay extra for those meals. The lunch time dishes were also limited in selection- it mainly consisted of burgers, fries and some local dishes served outside by the beach. The dishes at dinner time were excellent especially the soups and desserts..I loved the organization and ambiance of the buffet diner. It wasnt too large and it still offered a sense of tranquilty while dining. We went out on most nights for entertainment which was a lot of fun including Coconut Grove for drinks, kareoke at the casino, club Rush, Shirely Heights on a sunday followed by CLub Mongoose. The entertainment on premise was jamming especially the live bands! The town of St John was still preserved in its natural state which is nice to still see in some of these Caribbean islands. We picked up some good finds in the Craft Market in town, where you can negotiate prices with the local sellers. We also managed to meet a lot of friendly local Antiguans who charmed their way into our hearts. All in all our, our stay was quite sweet and I would surely return!

Wonderful Friendly Staff

So much a part of the vacation you have is made from the people you meet on vacation. This starts with hotel staff who are polite, friendly, helpful and enjoy their work. The staff at the Halcyon have these traits in spades. You know they mean for you to have the best vacation ever. They set a fun atmosphere where you feel free to meet other guests and participate in the hotels amenities. Tennis is our sport. We met another couple and played 7 days in a row. A new record for our family. Thanks to the Antiguans at Halcyon.

Make sure you go to the other Rex at Hawk's Bill. This is a partner hotel about 8 miles away. Another sure way of seeing more of Antigua's beautiful beaches and coves.

"Fantastic Staff"

I was in Antigua for four nights and three days to attend a wedding. I was looking for moderately priced accommodations for the short stay and found the Halcyon Resort on line. The on line reviews of the resort were sufficient to give it a try. It offered so much more than a clean comfortable air conditioned room and bathroom. The wedding participation prevented the opportunity to experience the entertainment and activities that were taking place daily.Finding the need to be constantly moving around outside the resort I found the staff to be the resorts greatest asset. Everyone I encountered was attentive, helpful, and extremely hospitable. The one day I settled down I found [...] at the Tour Desk. If you stay there have her arrange a tour with Almond of Pelican Tours for a wonderful land excursion. Oh and don't forget to enjoy the beach for the sunset and the Warrie Pier waterside restaurant (one of three on the property) all of the wait staff are excellent.I would definitely go back again and recommend to friends.

Surprising

The Halcyon was built in the 70's and still looks it. It needs a lot of cosmetic work if you look closely, but it is clean, functional, and affordable. There is a new manager there and things are starting to be renovated. The food is good and varied, we ate most of our meals there as we were all-inclusive. They have one of the islands best beaches w/ water sports. The staff is their strong point... friendly, courteous, helpful. This is why I give the Halcyon 4 stars. There is a concierge in the lobby to plan outings with. Use her! We booked a day sail snorkel trip on our own w/ the Wadadli. It's a party boat and they cater to drunks. The snorkel was short and awful. We did circle the island and that was beautiful. Need a driver? [...][@] He drove us around Antigua w/ another couple. It's a lovely island and the Halcyon is a very good value.
