The resort is just a 35-minute drive from V.C. Bird International Airport and a 25-minute drive to the capital of St. John's.
Sugar Ridge offers 60 spacious guest accommodations, housed in 15 two-story buildings that seem to "grow" out of the landscape. Most are shaded by private plants and palm trees, ensuring ultimate privacy. Each guest room has an outdoor verandah on which to enjoy the idyllic setting gentle trade winds. Casually elegant interiors are light and airy, with floor-to-ceiling windows on two sides for excellent cross ventilation. The rooms feature dark wood and natural colored fabrics accented by island colors. Bathrooms feature a glass walled walk in showers. Half of the guestrooms are outfitted with outdoor plunge pools. Some rooms can connect to another room.
The Spa is the only AVEDA Concept Spa in the Eastern Caribbean and is designed to awaken the senses and bring balance back to body, mind and soul, in a serene atmosphere. The Spa offers four treatment rooms including a spa suite for dual treatments; a wide range of massage, skin care and body treatments; and a full-service beauty salon. Each treatment is customized to meet the guest's individual needs and is suitable for both men and women. Due to the popularity of the Spa, advance reservations are strongly encouraged.
Sugar Club Restaurant: In the vast space open to poolside greenery, this casual all-day restaurant serves Caribbean cuisine with North American-Asia twist. Guests may enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner either indoors or on the adjoining patio deck. Open-air seating overlooks the daytime activity taking place around the resort's two main pools.
Sugar Club Bar: Located on the upper level, this airy bar is a relaxed spot with views of the pool or sea. The tropical air and friendly atmosphere of this open-air lounge allow guests to relax and enjoy. Comfortable couches and communal tables create the perfect environment for socializing - sip an exotic cocktail or enjoy a snack from the bar menu or opt for the chef's delicious sushi offerings.
Carmichael's: This is arguably the most spectacular dining location on Antigua. Stylish and chic, this dinner-only open-air restaurant has unrivaled views of lush mountain greenery and the Caribbean Sea. Located at the highest point on the resort, guests experience the wonderful views or watch the evening stars while enjoying a candlelit dinner. The upbeat atmosphere and engaging service set the stage for a taste of the island's bounty - most of the restaurant's menu features ingredients fresh from the ocean and local farms crafted into stunning dishes of International standard.
Carmichael's Bar: Infused with a warm and refined elegance, Carmichael's Bar is the perfect place to enjoy pre-dinner cocktails or after-dinner drinks.
For those times when you prefer to dine privately in the comfort of your room, "in-room dining" is available.
Packed To Go! Many guests need a meal packed for travel, whether it is for a tour, a day trip or their return home. The chefs at Sugar Ridge have created their own gourmet a la carte menu based on local tastes and ingredients. Menu choices are creative, colorful, and designed "to go!"

Beautiful Sugar Ridge
Stayed at Sugar Ridge whilst in Antigua for a long weekend recently. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Property was immaculately clean and comfortable. Bar and restaurants were excellent. All in all, a great boutique hotel.

If you hire a car, try and get a decent map. The one issued by the car hire company was woefully short of detail and the Antiguan roadsigns are often illegible or non existent. Part of the fun, I suppose!

The biggest disappointment was our room had no air-conditioning upon arrival and was not working until the second day of our stay. We had traveled all day and were exhausted but had to leave our balcony door open for a small bit of air there was and the room filled with bugs and Mosquitos!! We should have been compensated for this huge problem but the hotel said thar since we booked with [...]they could not make an adjustment! Big deal they gave us a 10 percent discount on our hotel expense bill amounting to $16.....big deal!!

Sugar Ridge
I had a great dissapointment given by several factors: - The hotel does NOT state that is not located in the beach!! the pitures in the website are missleading. You need to wait for a shuttle (up to 30 mins) to get to the beach. - The attention was way too variable, and I felt that there were different ways to treat different guests. We didn't got the attention level you may require from these type of hotels. People in the front desk gave us very little information (to none) when requested. With the exception of the restaurant's people, the rest of them (front desk, spa, bellboys,...) were not polite at all.

Sugar Ridge Resort Antigua
Hotel room is very spacious and beautiful with many nice features. However, the level of service for how the hotel is positioning/marketing themselves is not up-to-par. The staff is not very friendly and limited in number. Also, don't forget your mosquito repellant as there are a LOT of mosquitos at the property.
