In the heart of the city overlooking Zarnegar Park the Kabul Serena Hotel is the first five-star hotel to open in Afghanistan in over 35 years a symbol of confidence in the reconstruction and redevelopment of Afghanistan and in the Afghan people themselves. Built to exacting standards with loving care and attention to details - cultural aesthetic and historic - the hotel is a masterpiece of architecture and craftsmanship as well as being one of the most environmentally friendly buildings in the country. Conveniently situated in down-town Kabul the hotel is close to all embassies ministries and just a twenty minute drive from the international airport.

Wonderful Location!

I recently went on holiday to Kabul to get away from all the hustle and bustle of LA. While hotel choices in Kabul are sparse, the staff at Serena were great! I had a wonderful room that overlooked the Afghan National Police Headquarters. It was nice to sit on the veranda after a day of sight seeing and watch the Taliban scheme on ways to breach the ANP perimeter. One small problem I had was that the valet used my rental car as a car bomb, but thankfully the hotel staff promptly got me a replacement. The food was excellent though I would avoid the gazpacho of donkey if I were to go again. I will miss the serenity of falling asleep to the sound of RPG fire. 10/10 will definitely be back!
