I recently went on holiday to Kabul to get away from all the hustle and bustle of LA. While hotel choices in Kabul are sparse, the staff at Serena were great! I had a wonderful room that overlooked the Afghan National Police Headquarters. It was
nice to sit on the veranda after a day of sight seeing and watch the Taliban scheme on ways to breach the ANP perimeter. One small problem I had was that the valet used my rental car as a car bomb, but thankfully the hotel staff promptly got me a replacement. The food was excellent though I would avoid the gazpacho of donkey if I were to go again. I will miss the serenity of falling asleep to the sound of RPG fire. 10/10 will definitely be back!
