Most recent user reviewsScore 4 out of 5 Close to everything downtown Anonymous The hotle is only a short walk from the theater district as well as hte major event complexes downtown. The River Walk is only a block and a half away as well.I was looking for a place that was walking distance from Milwaukee School of Engineering and was delighted to find the Best Western Inn Towne Hotel was close to everything downtown including the theater district. I like things casual and friendly and the staff there was great in that respect. My room lookked out over Grand Avenue mall and Wisconsin Avenue. There were so many dining options nearby that I never got to check out the hotel amenities. Score 5 out of 5 Good Business Location John Within walking distance there was a great choice of dining with many choices of ethnic foods. A unique shopping mall was only 100 feet down the street.By some standards the room would have been considered small, but it was very clean and comfortable.Throughout the hotel it was well maintained and clean. The restaurant and bar served quality food and drink with a very friedly staff. I will be in the Milwaukee area next month, and I plan on staying at the Best Western Inn Towne Hotel, Milwaukee, WI. Score 5 out of 5 Location Emilee This hotel is in walking distance of many attractions. The room was small but adequate. Score 3 out of 5 Not friendly Anonymous, 2007-03-11 Basketball game a walking distanceNot friendly or helpful person on font desk, take almost one hour to check in. Score 4 out of 5 Good Location Anonymous, 2007-03-01 Good resturants in the area. The Best Western has a good location. The room we had with one Queen bed was very small, but for the price worked ok. The room was basically clean, except for a old piece of pizza on the window sill,Yuk. Windows on the outside very dirty. But on the 8th floor in the winter probably hard to clean. The parking issues I read about in other review, was not a problem.yes it was ten dollars to park, but every other Hotel in the area is paid parking also. Score 5 out of 5 Very Friendly Staff Erika, 2007-02-28 The Chinese rest. accross the street west was really goodOverall the staff was very friendly and helpful with directions and things we needed like the baby bed for my grandson. It was fairly easy to get to. Score 4 out of 5 Noisy but good location Penelope, 2007-02-22 Milwaukee art museum is located about 10 blocks up Wisconsin Ave. Recently redesigned (looks a bit like a white ship from the outside), the restaurant (accessible without paying entrance to the museum) serves excellent food overlooking the lake. Art exhibits regularly change; check the website.Situated 4 blocks from bus/train stations, 3 blocks from the river, about 10 blocks from the art museum) and across the street from a mall with a range of shopping and dinner options (food court to Applebees), the location can't be beaten. However, even on the 9th floor the road noise is substantial (my room overlooked the main road - Wisconsin Ave.). The heating system (forced air) is a bit raucous as well. The room (queen bed, non-smoking) was clean and well appointed, with a bed, two chairs, desk and telly cabinet; bit small, but perfectly adequate for a single person. There is a restaurant in the basement, although I didn't visit it. I have heard parking can be awkward, but I was without a car so cannot provide personal experience. In short, I wouldn't recommend it for an extended stay, but for somewhere to crash for a night or two while visiting downtown on a budget, it will do just fine. Just try to get a room with a low number (X09 overlooks WI Ave., X01 is farthest away). Score 4 out of 5 Wondeful Lcation Anonymous, 2007-02-12 The hotel was in a fantastic location. I like the fact that the Shopping Mall was just across the street. The heat was not working properly and the parking lot was a block away from the hotel. I was given a space heater for my room(1004). Other than those two items the hotel was just about average. Score 2 out of 5 Cramped and noise Anonymous, 2007-02-01 Across the street from the Shops at Grand Avenue.Rooms are bare bones. Uncomfortable beds. Not enough blankets. Poor pillows. Noisy. Dingy. Score 3 out of 5 Review larry, 2006-12-31 |
