Anonymous, La Crosse, WI The hotel shuttle will take you right downtown if you want to explore the nightlife. The Ambassador hotel was wonderful. Very retro and fun. We felt like we were stepping back into time. For those who stay in hotels often for business, this is a great change of pace. Score 5 out of 5 Convenient Leah, Baltimore, MD, 2007-02-23 Great restaurants, Miller stadium and shopping are all 5 - 10 minutesw away.We stayed at the Ambassador while attending a conference nearby. The hotel is about a ten minute drive from the airport and less than five minute drive to the interstate. The Ambassador is just down the street from Marquette University. the recent renovation to the hotel is stunning and the attention to detail is impressive. We had the opportunity to dine several times in the restaurant where the food never disssapointed. The dishes were creative, beautifully presented and delicious. Our room was comfortable the hotel staff attentive to our needs and very friendly. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Milwaukee. The restaurant is excellent and the staff is young and helpful. It is not organized to give you an "office" away from home, but provides a reasonable level of access to internet service, printers, etc. It is close to downtown but in a "pioneering" neighborhood, not a lot of things to walk to in terms of food or retail. Very good value and a lovely atmosphere. I would definitely recommend individuals who are going to Marquette University for any reason to stay here. Their staff is very helpful and friendly, and went well beyond their duties to help me at times. In addition, the room is well taken care of, ironing board and iron came in very handy, DVD player, large parking lot, and a high speed internet connection in the room with cable in the desk drawer. Two good restaurants and bar with great staff. I really like my stay here, but I would say the neighborhood that Marquette resides in, has a high police and campus security for a reason, more for the evening and night. However, I felt very safe and security at the hotel. Score 5 out of 5 Fabulous hotel Stuart, 2006-06-04 The Ambassador Hotel is a restored, art deco building about a mile from the Milwaukee central business district. The hotel is in pristine condition. The rooms are exceptional, with pillow top beds, huge LCD TVs, terry cloth robes, and lots of room. Parking is a breeze in the oversized lot in back (no attendants, thank goodness). There is a wonderful restaurant and hopping bar, The Envoy, in the hotel. Also, there is a very good business center. Hotel staff was polite and helpful. This is a tremendous value for your money and a good place to have an event (there was a big wedding going on on when I was there). |
