Michael, Chicago, IL, 2006-10-09 During the summer there a number of activities right on the grounds(fishing, boating, swimming and golf). Lake Geneva is just a few miles to the east, with great shoppomg and dining. It appears that Lake Lawn Lodge is making a major investment in their operation. Our room was totally renovated and beautiful. Probably one of the nicest rooms we've stayed in for a while. The bathroom had a jacuzzi tub exquiste tile work. The room had a small refrigerator and a plasma TV-nice treat- and the price made this a real value. It was too cold to use the outdoor pool and indoor pool was under renovation. It will be beautiful when completed. The dining room and deli were very good. Score 2 out of 5 needs work Marty, 2006-08-26 This resort was nice in certain areas which we happen to be in the area that needed to be cleaned and up dated the bed was thin and hard and the section of the resort was full of mold the drain pipe out side were full of weeds and limbs it all had a smell / Bad enough that i was woken in the mornig with head ach and noise full Score 5 out of 5 A great place to get away Anonymous, 2006-07-08 Shopping nearby in Lake Geneva, Wi. was greatWe spent two nights at Lake Lawn. Very nice, and so big. We did a lot of walking and played golf. The food was great in the restaurants, and the service was very friendly. Score 4 out of 5 great food lori, Chicago, IL, 2005-10-16 lake geneva is closeLake lawn lodges resturant was very comfortable and yummy. Both the Saturday night all you can eat prime rib buffet and the Sunday brunch where exelant. The room was clean and neat but there was no ash tray in our room thou they sent one down imediatly once we called the front desk. When we checked in they didn't have the room we reserved. We ordered 2 queen size beds in smoking. All they had was 2 full size beds, and there was no price differance. The person behind the counter was nice and very applogetic. We can't blame her but it was not the way I wanted to start the trip. This also seems to be a problem with them because at check out someone else had a problem with their room resevation. Other than that we had a great time. Score 4 out of 5 beautiful location Alyssa, Chicago, IL, 2005-10-09 There's a marina from which you can rent a boat, and the horse stables are a semi-long walk around the lake, or a short drive down the road. Downtown Lake Geneva is about 12 miles away, and there you'll find more shopping and dining options.I've been coming to Lake Lawn Resort since I was a little kid. It's still as great a family place as ever. It's also an excellent place for a romantic getaway. The pool area is kept up very well, and the water's always warm. The hot tub is very large and very clean. On our weekend, it was a little chilly, but the fireplaces you'll find throughout the hotel are always roaring. The food was very good, and the buffets they had on the weekends offered a very fine selection. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They were doing some renovating while we were there, on certain areas of the grounds, and that took away some from the ambience. As I understand it from several of the hotel staff, they will be undergoing an extensive renovation over the next couple of years. This is fine by me. Lake Lawn is lovely, but parts of her show her age. Some of the rooms, while quite comfortable need to be updated. I could have done with more dining options, and coming from Chicago, I'm used to getting water out of the tap... I wouldn't recommend doing that in your room at Lake Lawn. Overall, it was a lovely relaxing weekend in a beautiful location, and I would surely go back again. Score 3 out of 5 Good, but a bit worn Anonymous, 2005-09-25 We had a good stay, but I must say the place needs a little refreshing. Although, it does sound like something is in the works. The help was great. Very accomodating. Really went out of their way to help us get to where we were going and also got a great description of the Native American heritage right there. Score 5 out of 5 Lots of fun Anonymous, 2005-09-05 Lake Geneva has many tours just 8 minutes away. Horse back riding was just 5 minutes away. This hotel is the perfect place to get away and enjoy a little of Lake Geneva and Lake Delevan. With restaurants, pools, and fishing on site, it makes it hardly un necessary to leave this hotel. Score 2 out of 5 Disappointing Mary, 2005-09-04 Lake Geneva is 15 minute drive, where many great restaurants and shopping opportunities are located. The Lake Lawn resort was a disappointment. The grounds are beautiful, the staff friendly, and the pool area is very nice. However, the room was a true disappointment. It was all covered in a very dark wood trim, and felt almost cave-like. The bathroom was extremely small, and the black mold around the bathtub was not a pleasant sight. Fortunatly, the resort has plans to update and remodel next year.
