Most recent user reviewsScore 5 out of 5 Great value Anonymous, 2006-10-19 University Village Shopping Mall is across the street, UW campus is right next door, UW Medical Center is about a mile away with Husky Stadium halfway between.I stayed here before primarily because of the location (right between UW and University Village Mall and close to UW Medical Center) and price (it is a good value). I stayed there before and it was good for the price, but recent extensive renovations make it a great value now. The motel staff even advised me of a discount that I was unaware I was entitled to. The rooms are very clean, quiet, and don't have 20-watt lightbulbs in the lamps. You can actually read there. Score 2 out of 5 A vague bargain sadie, 2006-10-10 A walk on the nearby paved trail is great. Get to it by going north of the hotel a block or two.For the price range and very select area with wonderful shops across the street, I expected to have a bit more than a very plain room when I checked in. The amenities provided were standard, but I was disappointed that the fixtures in the bathroom were quite rusty. Some redeeming qualities were that the hotel is within walking distance to University of Washington's campus and on a major bus line with a well-used walking/biking trail just up the street. Score 4 out of 5 Met the need for one night's lodging Anonymous, 2006-07-31 Close to attractions in Seattle and the U of W.I stayed at the University Travelodge w/ my 2 children for a just a night during a recent trip to Seattle. The check-in was quick. We were fortunate, we were upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite complete with a small kitchen with a refrigerator/freezer, microwave, coffee maker, sink, toaster and lots of cupboards, dining and living room at no extra cost. The rooms were fairly clean, but definitely had that damp, musty been-in-Seattle-for-a-while-smell. Since the clerk couldn't leave the small office unattended, I had to go to the office to get extra towels, there were only 2 in the bathroom. The toilet leaked when flushed, so we let them about that, but for the time we were there we just used the garbage can to catch the overflow from the tank. (Thank God it wasn't from the bowl!) The kids enjoyed the nice-sized TV, we didn't have a chance to try out the DVD player. The hot tub looked a little iffy as far as age and the amount of what looked like chlorine in it, didn't really want to try it out, and we didn't get down to check out the pool. A small shopping mall was just down and across the street, so we were able to pick up some things at the drug store, and the drive from there to Seattle Center wasn't too terribly long. (I don't know if the traffic was normal for a to-work rush hour time, but it was slow going until we got to the freeway.) The continental breakfast consisted of packaged danishes or muffins, a small offering of tea or coffee - some fresh fruit and small boxes of hot and cold cereal with a small microwave and individual cartons of milk would have been great, but the office was very small, I imagine that it would take some creative logistics to fit it all in. Score 2 out of 5 run down Mary, Milwaukee, WI, 2006-07-19 University Village shopping center is across the street and has many upscale shops and restaurants as well as grocery and drugstore. The University Travelodge was quite run down in appearance, broken screens on the windows, the pool was dirty and the deck in need of repair. The spa was in a walled off area that was also very unkempt though the spa itself seemed clean. The best thing about this hotel was its location in the University district, walking distance from shopping and dining. Score 4 out of 5 Great location Anonymous, 2005-12-27 I heard that the Starbucks in this Village Shopping Plaza is the most busiest in the world. This hotel is located in front of the Shopping Plaza. The place is convenient, walking distance to the shopping plaza, 10 minutes drive from the dowtown Seattle. The hotel needs to upgrade bathrooms, otherwise it it pretty comfortable. |
