During your Seattle vacation, don't miss these great establishments and attractions:
IMAXDome Theater
The IMAX Dome is a movie theater with a 180-degree screen that fills your peripheral vision and puts you right in the middle of the action. This huge wraparound theater is adjacent to the Seattle Aquarium, and for many years now has featured a film about the eruption of Mount St. Helens. Various other special features are screened throughout the year.
Burke Museum
Located at the northwest corner of the University of Washington campus, the Burke Museum features exhibits on the natural and cultural heritage of the Pacific Rim. Permanent exhibits include Life & Times, which covers 500 million years of Washington history (and prehistory) with lots of fossils, including a complete mastodon, on display. The second permanent exhibit, Pacific Voices, focuses on the many cultures of the Pacific Rim and their connections to Washington State. There is also a smaller temporary-exhibit gallery. In front of the museum stand three modern totem poles carved in the style of the 1870s and 1880s.
Odyssey Maritime Discovery Center
Sort of an interactive promotion for modern fishing and shipping, this facility at the north end of the Seattle waterfront is aimed primarily at kids and has more than 40 hands-on exhibits highlighting Seattle's modern working waterfront and its links to the sea. Exhibits include a kid-size fishing boat, a virtual kayak trip through Puget Sound, and a live radar center that allows you to track the movement of vessels in Elliott Bay. In another exhibit, you get to use a simulated crane to practice loading a scale model of a cargo ship.

Marriott Seattle Waterfront
Just a stone's throw away from magnificent Elliott Bay, the new Seattle Marriott Waterfront is prominently situated within Seattle's thriving waterfront community and is adjacent to the seventy-eight thousand square foot Bell Harbor International Conference Center on Pier 66. With its prime central location, the hotel is within easy walking distance of downtown Seattle and its major attractions such as Experience Music Project, Pike Place Market, Seattle Aquarium, Seattle Center and the Space ...

Great location for the business and vacation traveler

The Paramount is ideally situated in downtown Seattle. Located just one block from the convention center it was a perfect fit for my business meeting. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Satisfactory

Great shopping.

The only major problem was we are on line traders, on the morning of 12/13 we were trying to place a trade but the hotel internet connection failed and we lost $6,000. Therefore, if one does stay at this hotel, we strongly recommend they DO NOT DEPEND ON THEIR INTERNET SERVICE. We also had to pay daily for the connection ($10./day), but we soon realized that the problem was due to the hotel not the server. By this time, it was too late to do our trade, left us with -$6,000. Frustrating but still a comfortable hotel to stay in.

Staff very helpful and attentive

Seattle's Market Place Center is only six blocks away.

Relaxing visit. The staff were very helpful and attentive. Within reasonable walking distance to shopping and places of interest. Room was comfortable, however shower water drained a bit too slowly.

Great location

A small indoor mall was a block away, with dining and shops.

After the taxi from the airport, it took minutes to check-in, get advice from the very friendly concierge, and be on our way to walk to the water, to old downtown and the Space Needle, and back and dine locally at a restaurant that two people recommended.

Location! Location! Location!

Only 6-7 blocks from the hotel past many shopping spots is the Pike Street Market, a veritable smorgasbord of sights and sounds. If for nothing else, go to see the flower stalls.

Although we spent only a few hours at the Paramount, our stay was most pleasant. We arrived late and were able to arrange a 2-hour late check-out, for which we were very grateful. All the personnel were charming and very helpful, and the room was roomy enough for our needs. The separation of bath/toilet from vanity is a good design for multiple guests. We always appreciate a good cup of coffee in our room, so we were not disappointed. The location near all the Seattle downtown delights--shopping and Pike St. Market--was absolutely the best part. The young man who answered the phone told us to announce our destination as the Grand Hyatt so the airport shuttle would drop us at the proper corner. All worked just as planned.

Good Stuff

Jonah, Philadelphia, PA, 2005-07-24

This was my first time visiting Seattle. It's located right smack in the middle of downtown Seattle and, if you're used to walking in cities, is well withing walking distance of pretty much everything. Plus, the weather is so cool that it's hardly an effort to get around on foot. If you're looking for places to eat, there are definately plenty of options within a couple of blocks and an infinite number if you venture out a bit more. That is if you get sick of the Dragon Fish Cafe that is located inside the hotel and also provides the room service meals. Oh man! I didn't know you could get such blazing pancakes and french toast from a Chinese restaurant. *drool* Recommended to all travelers.
