Most recent user reviewsScore 2 out of 5 Review Anonymous No review provided by user Score 4 out of 5 Cheap, but a step up from most Best Western Hotels Stephanie, Pittsburgh, PA The Best Western Executive Inn in Seattle was a bit nicer than expected. The room included a spacious table to work on, and had wireless internet. One of my colleagues found herself stranded, and I was able to let her stay in my room at no extra cost. The bathrooms were clean, and the room service was adequate. The hotel is just a few blocks away from a post office and grocery store, in addition to Seattle landmarks like the Space Needle and Experience Music Project. It is also within walking distance of larger hotels that may host shuttle busses to the convention center, during major conference. I was there for the American Library Association Midwinter Conference in 2005, and quite pleased with the location. There is a nice crepes and coffee restaraunt nearby, and the hotel is even within a reasonable walking distance of Pike Place Market and the Seattle Public Library. Great choice, and quite affordable. They also have cookies, coffee and fruit in the lobby at all times, and a small workout room! Score 4 out of 5 Okay place to stay Susan The Best Western Executive Inn was very close to the Space Needle and Seattle Center. It was also a short walk to the Glass Blowing Studio. It was a longer trek to the Seattle Public Market, Seattle Museum, and the nicer stores and restaurants. Although the neighborhood is not distressed, I would not walk by myself in the area after dark. The hotel was not luxurious, but it was clean and comfortable. The management promoted environmentally friendly practices. Instead of providing packets of soap, shampoo, etc., there were soap dispensers located about the sink and in the shower stall. There was a separate wastepaper basket for recyclables. The hotel was in the process of renovations. To get to the restaurant, you had to walk outside instead of going through a hall off the lobby. The restaurant was not fancy, but it was clean and the food was good. They served breakfast all day. When I checked in, I asked for change for a twenty. There were four fellows at the desk, and one said that I needed to go to a nearby bar or store to get change. None of the four fellows offered to help with my bags, so I asked if I could use the bellboy cart and take up my own bags. They said that would be fine. I wondered if they would have offered to help if I had change for a tip! The hotel provided free apples and coffee in the lobby during the morning. Interesting fact: a bus that leaves for Canada stops at this hotel's parking lot. In the morning, a number of people going to Canada wait in the lobby for the bus. The Federal Naturalization and Immigration Office is also a few blocks from this hotel Score 5 out of 5 Excellent Location Manuel Park in covered parking, not on streetVery clean, nice, fairly quiet, good location. Score 4 out of 5 Great location Anonymous, 2007-03-13 Room was clean and the location of the motel was great. Walking distance to downtown. Score 4 out of 5 Hit or miss Brian, Richmond, VA, 2007-03-09 Depending on your proximity to the dumpster and if they dump bottles in it at 0200hrs you may or maynot enjoy your stay. The room was fine but the outside noise can be a bit much. Of course I had the misfortune to be there as the flooring was being replaced in both the lounge and dining area. The fresh cookies in the afternoon are a nice touch. Overall I would try it again just make sure you are on the space needle side of the hotel. Score 4 out of 5 Comfortable and convenient Anonymous, Portland, OR, 2007-02-26 The Seattle Center is just a block away, and there are many places to explore and event venues such as the EMP located within its boundaries. Lots of food stalls, too.I have stayed at this hotel many times over the years and have even hosted conferences there. Reliable staff and facilities keep me coming back. The hotel has seen better days and seems to be on the decline as far as upkeep is concerned, but the service remains consistent. I did encounter a couple minor irritations: the pillows in the guest rooms are shot and are in desperate need of replacement with some quality pillows - just an issue I am a stickler about. Also, I needed copies of the itemized receipts for my room service charges and the staff seemed confused as to how to deal with that request. Score 5 out of 5 Great location and view of the Space Needle. And Eco-friendly! Anonymous, Portland, OR, 2007-02-19 Leave your car behind, take the short 2 block walk to the Seattle Center, and hop on the Monorail to explore the best of Downtown Seattle and the WaterFront by foot!I would definitely recommend the BW Executive Inn for anyone who plans to visit the Space Needle and Seattle Center. Our room was very clean & spacious, and we had an awesome view of the Space Needle (My 5 year old loved going to bed seeing the Space Needle all lit up just outside our window, and waking up to see it again in the morning!) It was a quick walk (2 blocks!) from the hotel to the Seattle Center, and we were able to leave our car at the hotel the whole time while we went up to the Space Needle, toured the museums, rode the Monorail to the Westlake center, walked to the Pike Place Market and down to the waterfront! Overall, we did not spend much time at the hotel or in our room, but after a full day and evening of touring Seattle by foot, it was fun to take the Monorail back to Seattle Center and get back to comfort and safety of our room in a short hop, skip and jump! The front desk staff was very friendly, and even the cleaning ladies greeted us with a smile as we walked the halls to our room. And I was impressed with the Eco-Room features...makes me feel that Best Western shares our concerns about taking better care of the earth and not contributing to excessive waste and energy use! We will definitely stay here again! Score 5 out of 5 Great value Janet, 2007-02-15 Good value. The wireless internet connection was low at one point but overall good. The view was great-the Space Needle was just outside my window. I will definitely stay there next time I am in town. Score 4 out of 5 good location Lise, Salt Lake City, UT, 2007-02-04 Take advantage of the cheap parking hotel provides and utilize public transportation. We thought that the location was great to get around town. So close to the Seattle Center and just hop on the monorail to get to downtown. The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. The room is a eco room and I was not thrilled with the shower head but my husband liked it. So that would really be a matter of preference. Overall it was a nice experience. |
