Most recent user reviewsScore 5 out of 5 Close to shopping Anonymous, Ontario, CA, 2006-08-04 The Mexican restaurant in the Fred Meyer shopping center was reasonably priced - the food was average. The room was large with a desk and computer hook-up. It was not quite as clean as it should have been. (Candy wrappers in drawer and on the floor) The room was within walking distance to Fred Meyer store and shops like 31 flavors, a pizza place, Mexican restaurant. I enjoyed going for a short walk around the neighborhood, admiring the pretty landscapes and the library is in the shopping center so I stopped in to read a few magazines in a tranquil setting. I would stay in the hotel again. Score 4 out of 5 Review Luke, 2006-07-11 go to Mount St. HelensThe hotel put us between a teenage softball team and the stairwell.Had to complain from the noise. They moved us the next day. Ran out of pillows??? We thought that was quite strange. Score 4 out of 5 Vancouver , WA Value Mary, Los Angeles, CA, 2006-07-09 Portland, OR is just about 15 min South. Watch out for the draw bridge on I-5 crossing the Columbia River. If the bridge is up, traffic can be delayed 20 min to a couple of hours! Try the eastern route (I-205) instead. It's not too far out of the way, and it doesn't have a draw bridge across the Columbia. The Red Lion Inn @ Salmon Creek was a great value for the dollar. The room was large and roomy. The beds were a little soft. Apparently all the rooms with king size beds face the freeway, so we opted for a room with two queens, just to get away from the noise. Family friendly hotel; good if you are traveling with the kids, maybe not so good if you're trying to relax with kids. A little disappointed there was no grassy area specifically set for the pets. We weren't aware of the $25 non-refundable fee for having a pet in the room until we checked in. I do believe the fee should be refundable. Would like shopping mall and sit down restaurants to be located within walking distance of hotel. No restaurant in the hotel. Score 5 out of 5 Excellent desk staff Anonymous, 2005-07-17 This is an attractive and well-maintained hotel with interior corridors, just off the freeway. Every interaction I had with their staff was impressive, from phone calls made before arrival to make special arrangements, to our check in, check out, housekeeping needs, and information about local parks, restaurants, and movie theaters. Our room was comfortable and very attractively furnished, though lighting is on the dim side. Good climate control, but I was disappointed we couldn't open the window for some fresh air. The hotel was very busy when we were there, but our room was quiet, even on the freeway side of the building. Breakfast has generous hours, but presentation and variety could be improved. We ended up going out the first morning because some of the items had run out and the rest didn't look too appealing (found a great little coffee house in Vancouver, however, across the street from the Columbia River, with excellent breakfast choices). This hotel is near (but not TOO near) a Fred Meyer grocery/department store, as well as a new small neighborhood shopping center with some lunch and dinner options. It is also near Salmon Creek with lovely rural trail through meadows and woods, as well as a lake with swimming beach where we spent two hot afternoons relaxing on a shady lawn. I'd definitely stay there again. |
