During your Seattle vacation, don't miss these great establishments and attractions:
Pacific Science Center
Although its exhibits are aimed primarily at children, the Pacific Science Center is fun for all ages. The main goal of this sprawling complex at Seattle Center is to teach kids about science and to instill a desire to study it. To that end, there are life-size robotic dinosaurs, a butterfly house and insect village (with giant robotic insects), a Tech Zone where kids can play virtual-reality soccer or challenge a robot to tic-tac-toe, and dozens of other fun hands-on exhibits addressing the biological sciences, physics, and chemistry. The August Bubble Festival is always a big hit. There's a planetarium for learning about the skies (plus laser shows for the fun of it), plus an IMAX theater. Be sure to check the schedule for special exhibits when you're in town.
Museum of History and Industry (MOHAI)
If the Seattle Underground Tour's vivid description of life before the 1889 fire has you curious about what the city's more respectable citizens were doing back in those days, you can find out here, where re-created storefronts provide glimpses into their lives. Located at the north end of the Washington Park Arboretum, this museum explores Seattle's history with frequently changing exhibits on more obscure aspects of the city's past. While many of the displays will be of interest only to local residents, anyone wishing to gain a better understanding of the history of the city and the Northwest may also enjoy the exhibits here. There's a Boeing mail plane from the 1920s, plus an exhibit on the 1889 fire that leveled the city. MOHAI also hosts touring exhibitions that address Northwest history. Although not actually in north Seattle, this museum is just across the Montlake Bridge from the University District. Beginning in April 2005, the museum will have an exhibit on Lewis and Clark.
Bellevue Botanical Gardens
Any avid gardener should be sure to make a trip across one of Seattle's two floating bridges to the city of Bellevue and its Bellevue Botanical Garden. Although this 36-acre garden opened only in 1992, it has matured very quickly to become one of the Northwest's most-talked-about perennial gardens. The summertime displays of flowers, in expansive mixed borders, are absolutely gorgeous. You can also see a Japanese garden, a shade border, and a water-wise garden (designed to conserve water).

Andrew, Seattle, WA, 2007-02-11

All of downtown Seattle. Name your thing.

The Sorrento Hotel is a wonderful place for a nice weekend in Seattle. Just make sure you order ice early. Great staff, nice room, close to most of major downtown but will little off the beatin' path. I've stayed in a majority of hotels in downtown Seattle & would highly return here again

the metro is about a one mile walk.

They will treat you like you are royalty. But make sure you book the car in advance as it gets busy.

The Sorrento is truely a exceptional hotel. From it's curb appeal and location to it's comfortably decorated bedrooms, the modern and anticeptic bathroom, the great service and tasty food...We'd recommend this hotel to any and all those travelling to Seattle.

Grat for a Romantic Getaway or Business

Tom, Dallas, TX, 2005-10-09

Ray's Boathouse is always great and Elliot's is hard to beat on the Sound.

The Sorrento is indeed a botique hotel. It's listed as a preffered hotel meaning it is privately owned. When you enter this beautiful hotel your invited into the great room with it's original titled fireplace blazing. The staff is exceptional, exspecially the consierge. The rooms vary in size but all have fine ammenities. The hotel offers free car service, which is nice because the hotel is a little far from the market or the water front. The beds are an incredible experience in there own right. I defy you to find a more comfortable bed. Overall The Sorrento is indeed a delight in the world of luxery hotels.

Elegant and comfortable.

This was a lovely hotel. The hotel staff was helpful and courteous. The only downside was the room we were given was a little small; however the bed was very comfortable.
