Take a camera along.Ran away to The Green Mountain Inn for some R&R. The staff at the Inn and Whip Bar & Grill were friendly and attentive. The deluxe room was quite spacious, and the furnishings gave the room a cozy feel. Relaxing in the jacuzzi while the fireplace warmed the room was just heavenly. Taking a walk along the nearby Recreational Path cleared the mind, and it was all topped off with a great deep tissue massage provided by one of the trained therapists at the Inn. The food at the Whip Bar & Grill was delicious (the corn chowder is a must try!). Score 5 out of 5 So charming! Anonymous, Portland, ME, 2006-07-04 Stowe has a recreation path that winds through a park and forest behind local businesses. It's a great walk and very bicycle friendly. The Green Mountain Inn was wonderful. Our room was lovely and felt unique. It was definitely not a standard hotel room but colonial charm with stenciled walls, a HUGE closet, a high canopied bed with a patchwork quilt, and a large spotless bathroom with colonial wallpaper. The restaurant was a little pricey but well worth it. The food was so delicious and the service friendly and efficient. The pool was clean and the game room, although limited, was fun. We didn't use the fitness room but it looked current and well kept. The front desk staff was gracious and welcoming. We will definitely stay at the Green Mountain Inn again!
