Most recent user reviewsScore 1 out of 5 Bad choice Thomas, Boston, MA A hospital, the place could make you sick. The girl at the desk was very nice. The resteraunt food was ok. The room though a smoking room smelled bad. The beds were hard, woke up with soare back. The shower was imposible to operate, you got very hot or very cold! And when you did it dribbled out. Also, even though their was a big football game on tv that night.(one of the reasons I picked this hotel) The lounge closed early because they said not enough people were there. All in all,it was a bad choice! Score 1 out of 5 will not go there again andrea, Harrisburg, PA The best restaurants in the area are run by the Culinary Institute and are in downtown MontpelierThis hotel raised my stress level ever since we arrived. When I asked about high speed internet served, I was told it was dialup but was NOT told that the phone needed to be turned on in order to access my ISP. I spent 2 very stressful days worrying that I would not get my schoolwork done and turned in on time - which I achieved by going to my daughter's school and using their computers. Convenient this was not. After calling the desk at 3 different times, not one person mentioned the phone was not turned on. I finally left a day early and changed hotels. The problems nI encountered here were inexcusable and could have been solved with a knowledgeable and caring staff. (Not to mention that the room was less than clean - there was even a used toothpick on the nighttable). I travel most of the year for business and will never stay there again,. Score 1 out of 5 My review of Hilltop Inn - Montpelier thomas, Burlington, VT, 2006-12-16 Mall about two blocks awayHallway smelled very moldy and musty. There were old matresses and furniture in the hallways. Floor of room was dirty and had wrappers and bottle caps under the bed and chairs. It appeared that the hotel was under new ownership and possibly being remodeled. Ours was one of about eight cars in the parking lot. If our room was representative of the rooms that they were renting out, I'd hate to see the condition of the rest of the hotel. Definitely do not recommend this hotel. The rooms were spacious but the beds were like sleeping on bricks!! Score 4 out of 5 COMFORT AND VALUE Patricia, 2006-05-09 THERE IS A NEARBY MALL. SHAW'S IS A SHORT DRIVE ALSO. THE VIEW WAS GREAT FROM MY ROOM OF THE SUNSET.ONLY TWO IMPROVEMENTS I WOULD ADD TO MY STAY AT THE HILLTOP INN IN MONTPELIER. THE SHOWERS ARE FOR SHORT PEOPLE AND THE WATER PRESSURE IS QUITE LOW. THERE IS NO COFFEE MAKER IN THE ROOM. OTHER THAN THE ABOVE, I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND A STAY WITH THEM. ONLY ONE EMPLOYEE WAS NOT FRIENDLY AND PROFESSIONAL. I LIKED THE POOL. IT IS LONG AND WARM. THE ROOMS ARE NEAT AND CLEAN. THE RESTAURANT IS FABULOUS. IT IS NEAR STORES AND THE MALL. THE ANTIQUES DISPLAYED THERE ARE PHENOMINAL. Score 5 out of 5 CONVENIENT CURT, Boston, MA, 2006-02-25 Slept like a newborn, breakfast was great, quiet and peaceful. Had Vermont complementary cheddar cheese and hot apple cider at the check-in desk and free coffee. A fine restaurant was available on premise. Room was large, well furnished, windows opened so we could enjoy the crisp air. Access to highway was fine. Score 5 out of 5 Very Comfortable for Family Stay Tracey, Boston, MA, 2005-10-02 Just down the street was a full service Shaw's grocery store, and an Applebee's Resturaunt. Just down the street in the other direction was Dunkin Donuts for all of us coffee loversThe Hill Top Inn was very comfortable, the room was a good size for the price. We had 2 Full size beds, a dresser, luggage area, closet, a table and 2 very comfortable chairs. The Inn was very easy to find once leaving the highway. The view of the mountains was beautiful from our room. The Inn was only 10 minutes from Norwich University and just down the street from the mall. After looking around and talking to other visitors we were the only ones that had a heated pool. The check inn area was beautifully decorated for the fall season with fresh flowers, pumpkins and an apple and cheese station. The was also a small sitting area with fresh coffee all day and newspapers to read. That area was very comfortable with a few small tables and chairs and a couple of rocking chairs. |
