Score 1 out of 5 Very Poor Driveway Entrance Maintenance Johnnie, Philadelphia, PA, 2007-02-19 Motel is a few miles outside the city of Bennington. For starters this motel is behind a resturant with very small road sign to their driveway entrance. Their drive way was under 8 to 18 of snow and it had not snowed in several hours. Their driveway was at least 300' long to get into their parking lot. I attempted to make it into there driveway but was only able to get in about 6' when the tire started to spin. I decided it a no go as the snow was even deeper the further in. The comedy of this situation was they had a snow shovel at their driveway entrance. I left and called them to let them know that they needed to plow their driveway and that I was going to look for other accomodations. The lady that I spoke to said no one told them their driveway was full of snow. About 15 minutes later I get a call from them that they would have someone come and plow the driveway in about 30 or so minutes to come back and wait. I told them I was not going to wait. I was told that they were going to charge me for my reservation. I told them this is unacceptable, I was not able to make into their parking lot to use their services. I am under no obligations to pay for what they could offer. All the other business in their neighbohood had their driveway's plowed and cleared so there is no excuss that they did not. They did charge my credit card for the full reservation which I have made a formal complaint with my credit card company. I would not recommend this motel to anyone based on their attitude and lack of professionalism. Score 1 out of 5 Unacceptable Sub-Standard Facilities David, Boston, MA, 2006-08-19 The buildings and grounds are run down, a single room cottage, with a lock that didn't work well and a porch that was falling apart, a bedroom with paint peeling from the ceiling, a 1940's-era sink next to the bed, a bathroom that consisted of a miniscule shower and a toilet - neither of which looked very clean. On top of that, we did not feel safe staying there. We refused to accept the accommodations and, instead, found another motel for the evening that was clean, modern, and far more comfortable (in terms of security). |
