Most recent user reviewsScore 2 out of 5 family jassim some how it's good for family Score 4 out of 5 Property was okay Anonymous The continental breakfast is okay, but for a really nice breakfast try Granby North at the end of Granby Street. This Best Western was okay. We aren't particularly fussy but when the commode leaked and almost overflowed and the shower knobs leaked we mentioned this to the staff. Nothing was done until the next day when we mentioned it again and then the toilet was plunged so that it wouldn't overflow. It still leaked as did the shower knobs. The room was small, the bathroom was small and I believe the bed was a double - - when we were promised a queen. The motel was, however,on the water which was nice and the motorcycle people that had a party in the next room even apologized for any noise (and fireworks) that may have disturbed us. Score 1 out of 5 Not recommended at all Andrew, 2006-06-04 Hotel in bad repair; right across from low-income housing; most Best Westerns are pet-friendly but not this one Score 2 out of 5 Clean Private Beach Anonymous, Cleveland, OH, 2006-05-30 This Best Western was by far the poorest upgraded facility I have ever been to. If you enjoy hair on clean towels and dirty bathroom floors and a shoe box to sleep in then your standards are questionable by far. I DO NOT RECEMEND THIS HOTEL(MOTEL) to my worste enemy. Score 4 out of 5 Beautiful view edwin, Cleveland, OH, 2006-05-26 Very close to the airport, beautiful location. The hotel in which I had reservations for was great it was just 5 miles from the airport. The night was short but we awoke to the most beautiful ocean view in the world. Weather was perfect and the stay was a delight. Thank you Best Western holiday Sands Inn. I will be back soon. Score 4 out of 5 Needs Some Attention douglas, Charlotte, NC, 2006-05-13 Excellent dining 2-3 miles toward Virginia Beach. Very little traffic or lights to contend with.We were very impressed when we first arrived. Rooms were spacious and we had two baths and two closets which was very nice. However, when I used the shower, I found the drain partially covered with long hair and later saw items behind sofa and under bed left by previous renters. My worse complaint was that the pool was closed because it had not been inspected (according to front desk) and was not scheduled to open until several days after our check-out. On the plus side, the beds were very comfortable, the continental breakfast was good and the noise level was excellent. They just need to cover some of the small details. Score 3 out of 5 My review of Best Western Holiday Sands Inn & Suites Anonymous, Newark, NJ, 2005-11-05 There is a beach right in front of the hotelPlace was clean with usual amenities though the room was rather cramped. The kitchenette was a bonus. Was irritated by a fly in the room however. Ocean views were great but the room offered this only when peered out of the kitchen or bathroom window. Opt for the 2nd floor with sea views and balcony. Food options required a 5-10 minute drive with plenty of choices. Front desk has a print out of restaurants but did not cover all styles available. Score 2 out of 5 Needs much improvement Precious, Baltimore, MD, 2005-10-30 The next time I stay in Norfolk I will make sure not to choose the Best Western. The room smelled like smoke (and I asked for a non- smoking room), the bathroom could have been cleaner and the staff was not friendly AT ALL. I HATED IT. I would not refer any of my friends to this hotel and I advise everyone else to STAY AWAY. The hotel is relatively inexpensive and you get exactly what you pay for NOTHING. Score 5 out of 5 Great place for a relaxing vacation Gwendolyn, Baltimore, MD, 2005-09-25 There is a shopping center close by that has a market and fast food restaurants and a pizza hut that delivers. The Best Western Holiday Sands provided us with a wonderful relaxing mini-vacation. The room was clean and had the biggest bathroom I had ever seen in a hotel room. The staff was helpful and view of the ocean from the room was exciting. The patio area had a grill and people were cooking out, patio lounge chairs were available and also table and chairs. Once off the patio you are directly on the sand. The time of year we went was off season so it was quiet and just very relaxing. However, the hotel does play music throughout the hotel complex, but that provides an island atmosphere. I had such a wonderful time that I am planning to make this one of my yearly vacation spots. |
