The Days Inn Alexandria South prides itself on service. With so many hotels from which to choose, just providing dollar value isn't enough. We are located just minutes from the capital of the US, Washington, DC. We are also a convenient 1 1/2 mile walk from the closest Metro, DC's subway system (the cleanest & safest in the world). We offer all the first class attention you want and deserve.

The staff was pleasnt, friendly and helpful. The maintainence was decent but the property shows it's age and is a bit run down. I encountered ice machines that did not work and looked at the same airconditioner, apparently broken, lieing with its case open on the upstairs walkway throughout my stay. There are inadequate electrical outlets for personal or medical apliances (CPAP machine, chargers for phones & etc.) The room rate is ok but not a bargain. (Some family members who stayed at another hotel in DC paid no more for much nicer accomodations.) Score 4 out of 5 Can walk to the Metro rebecca, St Louis, MO, 2006-07-11 Near the Metro station I would recommend Tippy's Tacos and Cosmopolitan for great dessert. Also in the same plaza, if there is time for a manicure or pedicure T-nails is a nice place and good service. The hotel was satisfactory. Luckily the owners of Tippy's Taco's let us know about the short cut walk from the hotel to the Metro. One of the hotel staff did not encourage this. (I think he was looking out for his cab driving friend.) The staff mostley was helpful. The pool area is nice with a lifeguard on staff. The restaurant at the hotel offers mainly fried food and pizza. Complementary breakfast is dry cereal, bread, donuts, juice and coffee. I would have appreciated a piece of fruit and something other than whole milk. The rooms were clean with staff coming every day to clean and replace towels. The bathroom is rundown and could use some tile work, new grout and tub refinishing. Internet is available on two computers to check home e-mail etc. Score 2 out of 5 Review Randolph, 2006-06-26 There are some wonderful dining experiences within close proximity. Whether you want national food chains, local offerings or wonderful international food, it is all within walking distance to this hotel. The pool was not kept clean, the noise level (from guests and traffic) was horrendous and the proximity to the Metro was along a "path" behind an apartment complex, not on "well traveled" thoroughfares. The main lamp in our room was broken (the bulb was pulled from its socket) and when we reported it (within an hour of our arrival), they acted like we had broken it. The continental breakfast was acceptable and the majority of hotel staff was friendly. The actual room was kept clean, but again, needed some serious maintenance. Score 4 out of 5 Nice Room Anonymous, 2006-06-05 This is a short drive from Old Town Alexandria which oferred shope, activities, and many dining options. It is also close to a Metro stop for easy access to the DC area. This motel did have a lovely room, but the general property appeared slightly run down. We were disappointed in the breakfast offered, there was very little to choose from and the food was gone long before the time. There was a Shopers grocery store within walking distance that had great take out. Lots of restaurants near by. Also Mt. Vernon was only a few miles away by car.The Alexandria Days Inn was great. The bed was comfortable. Twice we asked for something extra and received it. The only thing was we had to take a bus to the Metro and the pool wasn't opened yet.
