Most recent user reviewsScore 3 out of 5 Economic and friendly shuming Only a few blocks from Ski resort. The location is nice and conv. The staff is friendly and flexible. Score 3 out of 5 Review Anonymous, San Jose, CA No review provided by user Score 4 out of 5 Mixed reviews Anonymous Nevada is pretty close if you want to go to some casinos in Tahoe City.Rooms were a little small. I was disappointed to learn once I got there that the jacuzzi wasn't working, but the staff was very nice and gave us an in-room whirlpool tub. The free continential breakfast wasn't very good. Score 4 out of 5 An average hotel Alan, Los Angeles, CA A long walk to casino but a very short drive to casino. The price is a little higher than what you got from return! Score 4 out of 5 Price was right Terry, 2007-03-04 Dining is next door, the casinos are about a mile away, and skiing is right across the street. The Howard Johnson Express Inn was a fair value for the Lake Tahoe area even though the building is old. The bed was comfortable. The table and chairs were a nice touch and in good repair but the chairs could use a cleaning. The bed spread appeared to have a couple of drops of blood on the underside of it. The bathroom window was broken and would not close correctly. The sink and toilet were in good repair and worked well. The shower head needs to be replaced but worked fairly well. The shower needs a GOOD cleaning to clean up the mold on the ceiling and on the walls. The continental breakfast not the best I have seen but was ok. The older staff spoke very poor english but the kids did very well, but the staff were very frindly and helpful. The price was very good for a Saturday nite in Lake Tahoe. I turned in the question and answer sheet in the room to the manager hopefully these problems will be resolved. Score 4 out of 5 Family friendly janet, 2007-02-17 There is a place to eat next door, a store and a Longs. The bed I found to be very hard and the pillows were as hard and the floor. The heater made a racket all night. Hardly slept at all. There were crumbs on the floor on one side of the bed and the bathroom floor didn't look very clean. The water in the shower dripped all night. Score 3 out of 5 Close to mountain Anonymous, 2006-11-25 You definitely want your car, because the walk to Heavenly is too far in the cold with ski equipment. This hotel was very close to Heavenly Ski Resort, and the price was affordable. However, there were some problems with the heat and with the smoking detector, although both were fixed. Overall, an okay, but not great, experience. Score 4 out of 5 Reasonably priced & a comfortable place to stay Lawrence, 2006-11-25 Close to the lakeshore and a short drive to the casinos.Reasonably priced for November which is supposed to be a low season. Good, clean & comfortable large size double bed in a generally good size room. Well located with friendly staff except that the complimentary breakfast wasn't that great; having breakfast standing in a limited area in front of the check-in counter.
