Grygoriy, Oakland, CA Driving is the best way to get around thought. The hotel wasnt the nicest, but it was clean, the staff was quick and helpfull and the location was very convinient. Score 1 out of 5 My review of Budget Inn - South Lake Tahoe jerry, 2006-07-05 Cruise boats and shoppingWe were not pleased with the room and no air conditioner and for medical reasons we must have air conditioning and when we tried to cancel for the second night they said there would be a $50.00 concellation fee even though it was for medical reasons. I find this unexceptable. We had to sleep with the windows open which is not very safe. Score 3 out of 5 Very budget inn Anonymous, San Jose, CA, 2006-04-02 Long Drugs and Safeway are nearby. Close to restaurant, shopping and casino. This Budget inn is very convenient in term of location. The price was fairly cheap so I can not complain much. The bathroom really needs to be updated. It is so old. Score 4 out of 5 Does the job John, San Jose, CA, 2006-03-19 Casinos and Heavenly ski resort just a couple minutes drive away.I made a last-minute trip to Tahoe with a couple of friends to catch some powder from the big storms in March 2006. I was pleasantly surprised how functional this place was. It was close to everything in South Lake Tahoe and the room was pretty clean. The beds were a bit soft and the bathroom floor was cold, but the heater worked well and I'd definitely stay here again. Score 2 out of 5 Unfriendly Anonymous, San Francisco, CA, 2006-02-05 Not very good place to stay... Score 2 out of 5 Just a place to sleep Kyle, Oakland, CA, 2005-10-30 Near casinos (short drive) and Heavenly (short drive). This motel was very bare bones. It was low cost, but I would not consider it a great value. All fixtures and furnishings were old and in somewhat of a state of disrepair. It was not dirty, it was not unsafe, but it also was not appealing. On the plus side, was free HBO, and free local phone calls. And, the staff was helpful and efficient. I most likely will try to find a different place to stay next time I am on a budget in the South Lake Tahoe area. Score 5 out of 5 Good for the price Todd, Oakland, CA, 2005-09-25 Heidis cafe a Tahoe Tradition is just across the street for breakfast and lunch, expect about 15-30 min wait on the weekends.Budget Inn - South Lake Tahoe, Good Location 2 miles away from State line and the casinos and this is truely one of those "you get what you pay for". The rooms were clean and comfortable with a nice big couch and pleanty of room to streach out. I will be going back on my next trip to Tahoe. Score 4 out of 5 Great for a quick stop-over Anonymous, Austin, TX, 2005-08-19 Close to the casinos in Lake Tahoe. If staying in the summer, most hotels (including this one) don't have AC and don't really need it but the open windows makes for a noisy morning.Budget Inn was the cheapest I could find through any on-line service. It was basic but clean and fine for a night or two. Loud in the morning with construction and traffic but conveniently located otherwise. Score 4 out of 5 needs new beds deborah, Wellington, 2005-08-14 not to bad of walk up hill, just long.the room was nice and clean for an older hotel, but they need to upgrade the bed's. other then that i would stay there again. Score 4 out of 5 BUDGET INN, SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, CA Christopher, Boston, MA, 2005-08-07 Nevada casinosSouth Lake Tahoe is an expensive place to stay on an August weekend (and probably at other popular times of year including ski season), so the word "budget" is strictly relative. However, may daughter and I found the Budget Inn clean, well-maintained, and not too noisy despite its location on Hwy 50 (the main street through town). This is an older, two-story motel that has been renovated. The bathroom was more spacious than in many motels of this type, but the bedroom was a bit cramped with most of the space taken up by a pair of queen sized beds. However, these were comfortable to sleep in. On the California side of the state line, restaurants close early--we arrived late and couldn't find much choice left at 9:00pm--but there are probably more options at the Nevada casinos a couple of miles north of the Inn. |
