The Watermark Hotel and Spa located on a quiet section of the Riverwalk is a Non Smoking Hotel, this 99-room hotel greets guests with a sumptuous lobby anchored by a large limestone fireplace and appointed with leather chairs, wrought-iron furnishings, and rich, warmly colored fabrics. Opened in January 2003, the hotel offers an attractive downtown location for business travelers, conventioneers, and vacationing couples. A quiet, candlelit foyer sets the tone for the Watermark Spa, a 17,000-square-foot sanctuary with 20 treatment rooms. Signature, Western-inspired therapies include the Avocado Lime Blossom Scalp and Body Treatment, the Mesquite Clay Wrap, and the Purple Sage Salt Glow. Three blocks from the hotel is the Alamo, home to the most famous battle of the Texas Revolution. Although many visitors are content to have their photo taken out front, there is much to see inside. The old church displays artifacts from Alamo heroes, including William Barret Travis' ring and Davy Crockett's buckskin knife.

Score 5 out of 5 Very Cozy Anonymous This was my first ever visit to a 4 star hotel and it was outstanding! I had been working long hours and not really getting any rest. It was my birthday weekend and I treated myself to a stay at the Watermark. I would go back there as a special treat for myself or someone special. The spa was absolutely wonderful! This was an experience that I can not put into words. The staff all around was great. They were very friendly and courteous. The bathroom was a spa retreat in itself. The garden tub with ts on built in jets was a prestress releiver. Inside of it was very clean and spacious. Score 5 out of 5 Great Hotel Neal, Burbank, CA, 2006-06-15 The hotel is on the riverwalk and there are lots of places to dine at within walking distance. The Watermark was a great hotel. The room with a river view was great. The room had nice furniture, tall ceiling, good air conditioning, a large bathroom, jacuzzi tub, large shower, good water pressure, marble counter at a good height. I would stay there again. Friendly staff and very helpful. The spa is very good, as well. Score 5 out of 5 Wonderful romantic getaway! Anonymous, Albany, NY, 2006-05-23 1. There are many places to eat on the Riverwalk, everything from very inexpensive to extremely exensive. Most have a tex mex menu but there are other choices such as hamburgers, steaks and seafood. 2. Many other resturants are within walking distance of the Watermark, probably withing two to five blocks. This hotel was fabulous! It is located on the River Walk and there is no shortage of dining opportunities. The staff was extremely couteous and helpful. Our room was really nice with a king size bed, chair with ottoman, and a desk with two additional chairs, and yet the room was not crowded. The bathroom was huge with a seperate glass enclosed shower, and we also had a jacuzzi! There was a large closet with plenty of room to hang your clothes. There were several nice touches, such as turn down service at night, fresh ice in the room everyday, and the maids, bellmen etc., were always very helpful and friendly. The Pesco restuant in the hotel was marvelous. The food was excellant from the taste to the presentation. And the wait staff were very attentive. I would reccommend this hotel to anyone who wants to be pampered, or to a couple who wants to make their anniversary special to be sure and stay at the Watermark when visiting San Antonio. Score 5 out of 5 Review Anonymous, Baltimore, MD, 2006-02-05 THE FOOD IN THE HOTEL IS EXPANSIVE, BUT ON THE RIVERWLK, SHORT WALK, IS SOME GREAT MEXICAN RESTURANTS.Score 4 out of 5 Walton Review James, Indianapolis, IN, 2005-12-30 Starbucks and Riverwalk cafes are all one block from hotelWe had a couple problems: First, when we checked in, there were no doubles available so we had to use a roll-away bed. For the room price, we should have had a double or an upgrade. Second, when we went to the restaurant for breakfast, we waited thirty minutes for our food. When we said something to the waiter (and the restaurant manager), the food was brought out cold. We refused it and left. By then it was lunch time. From that point on, we ate outside the hotel. Third, on the night prior to our departure, which was very early, the valet promised to have our car at the front door at 4:30 the next morning. When we came down, the car was not there and the front desk person was unaware of the promise. He literally ran to get the car for us but we were still very nearly late for our flight. Details like this are the difference between a good hotel and a great hotel. As a former meeting planner, this was somewhat disappointing. |
