Located just outside the loop and very near the Galleria, it is truly in the middle of things, yet with its wooded grounds, running path, collection of outdoor pools and facilities, one would think they have journeyed afar to find this royal retreat. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful from check-in to departure and the dining options were varied providing a healthy option in the fitness center and a 5-star gourmet opportunity in the hotel along with several choices in between. The recent rennovation that created the beautiful heated pools also added the Trellis Spa, a top knotch stop for the rich & famous. The rooms were elegantly appointed with all one would expect from a Preferred Hotel. The decor is tasteful and the exterior area is beautiful as you are surrounded by lovely plants and landscaping. Rooms are large and well appointed. The staff is friendly and very professional. Service is excellent. This is an excellent choice for business or pleasure and we always feel that we have not given ourselves enough time to enjoy all that the Houstonian has to offer. Great running trail, tennis courts, and an awesome skyline view.Located in a wooded area of Houston you forget you are just minuetes from the busy highways. This is great as you have the peace and quiet with the convenince of restairants. shopping, and nightlife just a short drive away. There is a jogging trail if you are so inclined and a wonderful spa on site to indulge yourself with a massage or facial followed by a steam and hot tub. I felt for what they charge per night that certain things like parking should be inlcuded but that was not the case we had to pay $9 to park. And then to get a coke from the bar in the hotel they charged $3! A 12 oz. can of diet coke in the mini bar was a $1.95, I understand that they need to charge something for the diet coke but a $1.95 is excessive in my opinion! The restaurants available to eat it were expensive and more expensive, there was nothing middle of the road available. The fitness center was very nice though, it was the one saving grace. So many spa options, it is difficult to choose and I loved the running/walking track. Three pools and a great gym. We are going to return for our 25 year anniversary next month.
