Most recent user reviewsScore 5 out of 5 The staff was very helpful Ira, Tyler, TX a next door restraunt was great! The overall setting was good. The only thing was the breakfast bar could be better. Score 5 out of 5 A pleasant surprise Margaret, Philadelphia, PA Denny's & Ryan's (both restuarants) were within walking distance of our room. At Denny's we had a great breckfast. For dinner, we did eat at Chili's which was a 1/2 mile or so away. There are many, many, many restuarants and stores in the area. The Super 8 Motel Houston/Brookhollow NW was a pleasant surprise. The room was larger than expected. As you entered the room you had a fold out sofa bed, coffee table, desk & chair. On the other side of the room, which was seperated by a half wall (which gave privacy) was a King size bed and dresser. The vanity top, and bath area was all granite. We had a small refridgerator and microwave. It was less than a 1/4 mile off the main highway (15 minute drive time to the George Brown Houston Convention Center) with 2 restuarants next door. Two large shopping centers were less than a 1/2 mile away. It was evident these rooms had recently been remodeled, new carpet etc. They have a nice kitchen area next to their lobby where they offered free coffee, bagels, cereal, breckfast bars, orange juice and other morning foods. Score 4 out of 5 Super8Houston Anonymous, 2007-02-21 Right off route 290 in NW part of town.Overall, my stay was acceptable, but not terrific and not memorable. For the price, you can't complain too much. Sofabed in room did not appear to have been serviced by housekeeping staff. Hotel staff was adequate but did not go the extra mile in making my stay pleasurable. Continental breakfast was enjoyable and perfectly acceptable, but not spectacular. Score 4 out of 5 fair to midland Janine, Grand Junction, CO, 2006-12-07 There is a washateria within a short driving distance. Grocery store is nearby as well.Super 8 in Houston,TX was fair. It was clean and the staff were courteous and helpful but English was a little difficult to understand. We were unable to use their laundry facilities as it was out of order. The toilet valve leaked so it would refill several times. My husband tightened the toilet seat as it was loose. The continental breakfast was very basic with no fruit served. The cleaning staff were freindly and did a good job with daily clean up. Score 4 out of 5 too "fancy" Anonymous, Philadelphia, PA, 2006-10-22 Memorial Park- great walks through the forestFrom the outside, this hotel seems very nice, there is a small pool and hot tub, and it looks pretty clean and new. The rooms look nice at first, there was a small somewhat separate sitting room, the bedroom, and bathroom. the bathroom shower was surrounded by huge pieces of granite, which looks nice and expensive, but the shower pressure and drain were not very good. the towels were thin and felt like brown paper. It seemed like a lot of money was out in to the appearance of the rooms, but that the details were missed, like shower pressure, a functioning shower drain, and nice soft towels. The bed was fine, not particularly special. We also had a back corner room that looked out onto a muddy field, telephone wires, and a bus parking lot, which was fine with us compared to the other rooms that had windows looking out onto the parking lot and everyone walking by. The location was ok, too. we thought it wouldn't take as long as it did to get there from the airport, but it was relatively close to a lot of other things, like the Galleria and Memorial Park. Checking in and out was simple and convenient. Score 4 out of 5 Friendly and convenient location PETER, Denver, CO, 2006-10-15 Galeria Mall is only 10 mi awayThe room is confortable for the partition between the bed and the couch and the sink and the bathroom. Its location es convenient to go in any direction within the city. Score 1 out of 5 HORRIBLE Lora, 2006-09-20 This was the worst neighborhood I have ever been in while looking for a room. We pulled up to the motel, bums and panhandlers were everywhere. I could not even get out of the car to check in without being asked for money. My husband and I could not even stay here.
