Convenient for business, not vacationing

katy, New York, NY

There is a great shopping mall, Memorial City mall, a few minutes away (5 min by car, 15 min by foot) for shopping or eating at the food court or a burger joint right the next door.

My review of Houston Days Inn

Anonymous, 2006-07-27

Was looking for an inexpensive place to stay while house hunting. Although the hotel itself did not have a resturant, there was a "1950's burger and more" diner immediately next door. Had chicken and shrimp shish kababs with baked potatoe - was so big we split it. Excellant! Continential breakfast available at the resturant. No protein, but filling. Wish I had brought my swim suite, pool looked enticingly cool due to the heat, but it was located directly behind the dinner. Room appeared very neat, clean, and quiet. Not a vacation destination, but suitable for my needs.

Stale smoke stench throughout

Brigitte, Tucson, AZ, 2006-07-23

The bad part about its location is the construction all along I10 at this time, and it will not be finished very soon.

While the room at this Days Inn was adequate in size, it was not well maintained overall - pieces broken off drawer, carpeting shredding, eddges dusty. For a one-week stay, I would have liked a small refrigerator in the room for snacks. Continental breakfast was provided but bagles and donuts were of poor quality, donuts crushed. Days Inns used to be a good deal for the money, but now I would rather spend a little extra and choose another motel chain.

No working toilet

Todd, Dallas, TX, 2006-03-08

If you do decide to stay here, it may be useful to know some plumbing.

This Days Inn was extremely disappointing. In the room, it was very shabby and the toilet would not flush. We notified the front desk...two hours later and no help yet, we called the front desk again. We were told the maintenance man didn't come in until 7:30. Needless to say, no one ever came to fix the toilet. I had fiddle with the plumbing myself to get it to flush, not something I would expect to have to do for myself in a hotel room. The bathtub was a joke. I am a six foot five inch, 250 pound man, and I couldn't take a relaxing bath in the sink they called a tub. I think it was maybe three feet long. So needless to say I will never be staying at another Days Inn if I can help it.

Supply map, explaing frontage roads along freeway. The over head signage on freeway does not direct you to the direction to take to continue on road you need .It is painted on the road 610 south 610 north what happened to I10 west?

The distance stated from hotel to hobby, very misleading. On 3 differant occasions the door key i was given would not open door .I asked the LADY TO SEND SOME ONE WITH A KEY THAT WOULD WORKShe stated that i need to come get it.There was 2 people working that evening. The water presure in the shower was a drisal.and mabe luke warm at best. I contacted the hotel prior to my visit,Are there irons in the rooms? No.I purchased an iron.Actually a iron and ironing board. The young man that checked me in was graciouse enough to up grade me to king size bed.

Simple Lodging

Anonymous, 2006-02-07

The freeway is under construction right outside the hotel, so traffic was a problem.

The hotel had a couple of things that were in need of repair: lamp, tv remote. The room itself was adequate and clean. The staff replaced them without too much trouble.

Review of Houston Days INN

Omar, Seattle, WA, 2005-06-22

My visit at Houston Days Inn was less than what I had expected. The staff was not friendly at all. If we asked for anything simple such as an iron, we were made to feel as though it was an inconvenience. We stayed there 3 nights, we were told the pool would not be open until 2:00pm for cleaning, (on two days) because too many people were using it. Keep in mind, it's Houston, it's summer...it would only make sense that hotel guests will use the pool???? The most disatisfying part was the condition of the room. There were celing tiles caving in both in the room and in the bathroom. The towels smelled like cigarette smoke, the carpet was dingy, and felt dingy. There was mold in the bathroom. The bathtub was the smallest that I'd ever seen. We normally have our two young children bathe together, this bathtub did not allow that. I would like to have something positive to say, but unfortunately, our pleasant experiences in Houston, was definitely outside of the hotel.

for the price, I have stayed at better hotels, the roads out front were under construction and traffic was terrible
