Le Peep for breakfast.

The Derek provided a vey large room with a refridgerator (which I needed for medication storage). The view and location were outstanding. The staff was highly professional. Valet parking was particularly appreciated given the usual miserable Houston weather. Fortunately there was an excellent restaurant accross the street, The Grotto who were wonderful on 2 occasions.

Great service at a great price

The Galleria mall is a short walk from the hotel, However, if you want there is free shuttle service.

This was a great hotel with loads of amenities and a great staff for the money I would say ythis is probably one of the better hotels I've stayed in.

A Little Disappointed

The hotel's styling, comfort and location were all great and lived up to expectations. But, I felt a little "nickel and dimed". There was only a valet parking option. And, I was told the restuarant wasn't part of the hotel so I could take drinks from the bar up to my room. I had to order room service. I don't think I'd stay here again.

Nice But

There's allot of shopping in the area.

This was a nice hotel; however there's only an outdoor pool....so that does limit the activities if weather is not warm. Also, the room was nice, but mine faced a parking ramp; thus there was noise late into the evening and the was directly eye level (fourth floor). The only real downfall in my eyes....valet service. You do not have the option to park your own car and there is a daily charge for using the valet service. The shower was fantastic....and the service great. The mall is within walking distance of one of the best malls and shopping areas.

Try Cafe Derek downstair in the hotel or order some room service. You will enjoy the food. It's superb.

If you are used to five star hotels, then you will want to stay here. I did, and I'll do it again. You definitely will get your money's worth. Enjoy your stay. I know I did.

Cross the street to the Galleria.

Hotel Derek is a modern hotel will the business amenities you could need. The rooms were confortable and the restaurant was great.

The Galleria is across the street where you can spend hours of shopping and eating as well as Uptown park that has shopping, Dining, and nightlife.

Having previously lived in Houston I wanted to say at a place that was near all of houstons hot spots without actually being in the hotspots, in order to to deal with the traffic. This gave that position perfectly. Giving with it also a very confortable and modern room with a great view.
