Most recent user reviewsScore 1 out of 5 not well mAINTAINED ELLIOT, Boston, MA, 2006-11-12 tHIS IS AN OLD HOTEL DESPERATELY IN NEED OF UPDATING. THERE IS A MUSTY AND SMOKE SMELL THAT PERMEATES THE HOTEL AND ESPECIALLY THE FLOOR THAT I WAS ON. tHE HEAT AND A/C IS CONTROLLED BY THE FRONT DESK. sO WHEN THE WEATHER GOT WARM I NEEDED THEM TO ADJIDT THE A/C AND WHEN IT GOT COOL THEY NEEDE TO ADJUST THE HEAT. OVERALL, I WAS TOTALLY DISSATISFIED WITH THE HOTEL. Score 2 out of 5 Undergoing renovation Anonymous, 2006-11-04 I needed a drive from the hotel's shuttle service to get to a drug store, which was a short drive away. Almost every amenity, including dining, requires a short drive, although the shuttle was readily available for that purpose. The Stoneleigh Hotel will be undergoing renovation for a period of 18 months beginning in November, 2006. I stayed there one week before it closed for renovations, and it was a bit like living in a mausoleum. Few people were there and the staff was in a Friday afternoon mood. The room I finally settled on was comfortable enough, but all of the hotel's furnishings showed wear and tear. When it resumes its services in 18 months, I would be willing to try it again. Score 4 out of 5 great bones bill, Burbank, CA, 2006-10-26 The Stoneleigh is in a hip area of good restaurants and shopping. Some are within walking distance or a short ride away, mostly local stores and restaurants which is a refreshing change from national chainsThe Stoneleigh is an older hotel with great bones. It is about to begin a remodeling which it needs desperately. My room was huge, clean and comfortable but needed upgrading, especially the bathroom. When finished it will be a first class property. Score 3 out of 5 My review of Stoneleigh Hotel Anonymous, Denver, CO, 2006-10-25 Museaums and antique shopsIts an older hotel in need of some maintenance improvements. Score 2 out of 5 Badly in need of renovation Erica, San Francisco, CA, 2006-10-11 Must have been charming in its day but my bed was as hard as a board (no spring left at all); I had no curtains in the windows; the black bathroom was extremely tired with various tiles missing/poorly patched up and the water out of the faucets should have come with a warning that it could burn you so be careful. Score 4 out of 5 Dallas Classic Thomas, 2006-09-29 If you catch a cab from Dallas Love field it's only a 13.00 fare to the Stoneleigh. Don't pay the 19 flat rate. The Stoneleigh hotel in the Turtle creek area of Dallas is a great value..... if you are working in that area. I stay there when I do projects at the Crescent Court down the street. It is an old style hotel and some things appear wore, but the rooms are statley and clean, the staff is very friendly, and the resturant and bar provide good food, spirits and service. I stayed at over a dozen hotels traveling this summer and the Stoneleigh rates in the top three. Score 2 out of 5 waiting for renovations... Sarah, 2006-09-17 walk around and see the buildings. we had fun.The Stoneleigh Hotel, delivered cold showers, leaky windowsills and the smell of decade old persistant cigarette smoke. All we can say is, bring on the renovations....please. Score 3 out of 5 great location Anonymous, 2006-09-17 american airlines arena and a bar acroos the streetI really liked the location of the hotel and how close it was to american airlines arena. it was also very close to allot of great resturaunts and bars. I recomend Adelmos!!!! its small but great food! Score 5 out of 5 Review jane, Manchester, NH, 2006-09-04 It was fun to explore the area.Score 4 out of 5 Comfortable, charming, old historic hotel Diane, Boston, MA, 2006-09-02 Formal dining on site; casual dining and bar across the street. The Stoneleigh is in need of some renovations (paint, carpet, furnature), but overall, the rooms were very comfortable, as well as the bed. Much to our surprise, we were upgraded to a suite, so we had ample room including a walk in closet and separate living area. The sofa and chair cushions were worn, but overall acceptable. I would have liked a counter around the bathroom sink. There were 2 restaurants on property, and Oak Lawn, downtown, and uptown Dallas were all within walking distance or a very short drive. |
