Not too much to do in downtown. Some of the front desk staff were rude and getting just a pot of tea took over 45 minutes. But the French Room was absolutel fabulous, very expensive but great experience. The Bistro overpriced for what you get but the decor is great too, very period. Score 5 out of 5 Great location Richard, 2007-02-14 Warehouse district has a good variety of restaurants. A good Tex-Mex restaurant around the corner from the hotel.I attended a conference at the convention center and the hotel was very convenient to get to and from, being only a three block walk. Also convenient to an old warehouse shopping and eating district. The hotel was exceptional. The rooms were large, yet cozy and clean and the staff was very friendly. The hotel staff from Valets, Desk Staff, Business Center Staff and Room Service Staff were all very friendly and accommodating. Beyond that, the hotel rooms are VERY tired, in need of maintenance an not as spotless as I would have preferred. Upon check-in, my first room was in disrepair (leaking toilet, several inoperative lights and a hole in the wall behind the entry door), I contacted the front desk and was quickly and professionally transferred to another room. Upon entering the second room, it reeked of cigarette smoke! I again called the front desk and a maintenance person came to the room, sprayed deionizer and placed an electric filter to rid the room of the smell. I returned to my room three hours later and the smell was almost gone. I decided against transferring to another room because I was tired at that point. Score 5 out of 5 Exactly what we wanted Dave, Tucson, AZ, 2006-11-04 Old but nicely updated. Elegant but not over the top. Staff was excellent and very helpful. Had wireless internet and EZ access. Many nice places to eat and a Starbucks steps from the front door. Score 5 out of 5 Extremely nice facilities H, Shreveport, LA, 2006-10-14 The historic Adolphus hotel was a pleasure to call home for a couple of nights, and would have been great for an extended stay. The whole place, from lobby to hallways, and throughout our guest room, was clean, well-maintained, down to the smallest details. We would highly recommend the Adolphus. Score 5 out of 5 Charming atmosphere, close to convention center Linda, Albany, NY, 2006-09-28 Neiman Marcus was only a block a way.The Adolphus was a beautiful hotel with spacious, charming rooms. The bed was confortable. The bathroom was beautiful with separate tub and shower. The restaurant was just out of this world. We loved the room, and really enjoyed eating in the bistro before heading to our concert at the Smirnoff. The one thing I did think was strange was their charge for the usual complimentary cup of coffee that you make in the room. I'm not sure if they actually charged my card yet, but it was on the list with the room beverage and snack center. We loved the bed, great water pressure and our request to be on a high floor with views was met with a corner room (windows on two sides) on the 14th floor, which we were happy with. We had a difficult time getting a shuttle to the Smirnoff Music Center, but we attributed that to the large number of people staying there also attending the concert. All in all, we loved the Adolphus. Score 5 out of 5 Review Anonymous, 2006-07-11 No review provided by user |
