It would have been nice to have an alarm clock or shampoo, but times is tight. The food and live band was great.Motel 6 Austin Central was a great choice. Having a limited budget, I could only spend so much money. The motel staff was friendly and helpful. The room smelled good, clean sheets, comfortable bed, and the bathroom was better than mine at home! I was happy to find this location was only 4 miles from my downtown destination. Motel 6 fit my budget perfectly and my needs. Highly recommended if you are looking for simple comfort and you are on a budget. It can and does turn into a virtual parking lot! You can drive into town much better via Red River St. (get a map of Austin first, but it's not difficult to reach off of 51st St. - Motel is on 53 1/2st).No coffeemaker, no toiletries except soap. Vacuuming of floor left a lot to be desire; the same white thread stayed on floor day after day. The pool looked okay, though very small, but that's not something I wanted to use. The room was large, and the bathroom facilities were ok, but there was only an open rack for hanging clothes, plus a three drawer dresser/desk unit. The table was small but adequate. I would have appreciated one comfortable chair with good reading light.
