Most recent user reviewsScore 2 out of 5 Very poor conditions Donald The motel was in very poor condition. The only food available was breakfast. The lounge was not open except on one evening and then only until 9:00 pm. The roof was leaking and there were drip cans in several places throughout the motel including the dining room. The heat in the dining room was very poor. I will say that the staff were very helpfull to the extent they were able. It took forever to get hot water in the bathroom and then it was not very hot and the pressure was poor. When taking a shower, it was not necessary to turn on the cold water to tepid the hot. I will not stay at the Howard Johnson Motel... Score 4 out of 5 Good for starting your sight-seeing tours Anonymous The Capitol building is a short 5 minute drive, as is 6th Street, the Texas History Museum and the University. Inner Space Caverns is approximately 25 minutes away. The Howard Johnson was nice but there was some damage to the hotel. However, the company was mitigating this damage as quickly as possible and it did not interfere with our stay. The room was very clean and comfortable, a little smaller than I was expecting. The bath area was very clean and in great working order. The bed was comfortable and clean. There were many resturants and attractions close to the hotel. It was a little difficult to get to from the highway but very centrally located and it was a great starting point for sight-seeing. Score 4 out of 5 Nice place for a business trip Dennis, San Diego, CA, 2006-11-07 Decent night spots we're nearby with stand-up comics and excellent live music.I was very pleased with my week long stay at Howard Johnson's Plaza. My room was set up like a comfortable studio apartment. The larger than usual bath area was separated nicely from the living area. The room was serviced each day with good attention paid to the details. Excellent Buffet in the Morning. I'll be back! Score 2 out of 5 Outdated and uncomfortable Anonymous, Houston, TX, 2006-09-03 at the intersection of 35 and 183I found the room very small and not very clean. This is an old hotel and the bed was not very comfortable. The bathroom was old and not clean. I received a wake up call on both mornings at 5am even though i had not requested them. I would not stay there again Score 4 out of 5 People were very nice. Marilyn, Los Angeles, CA, 2006-05-07 Walmart was across the highway. The Walmart is also the Supermarket. The location was easy to find as it was where the two major highways cross. Everybody was very nice. My only real complaint is that their internet was messed up. Had a problem with wireless connection. Really liked that there was a refrigerator in the room. |
