Great Location, Dirty Floors!

We reserved a room at this hotel because of it's proximity to Six Flags Over Texas. We were extremely pleased with the fact that we could literally walk to Six Flags and would avoid paying $9 to park on the premises of Six Flags! We also liked the Breakfast amenities at La Quinta as we could have waffles, muffins, etc... Those were the good things, now for the bad. At check-in, the front desk tried to say that they had "sold out" of all of their king-size, non-smoking rooms and they were going to have to move us to either a queen-size, non-smoking or two twin-size, non-smoking rooms. 5-10 minutes later, they somehow were able to find a king-size, non-smoking room on their very large property. Hmmmmmm. Well, we moved our stuff into this room. We also have a 14 month old son who is walking everywhere nowadays. After walking on the carpets inside the room for just 2 minutes, we noticed that his white socks, that were completely white before we set foot into the room, were now completely BLACK on the bottom! We were pretty grossed out to say the least. The rest of the room was okay as far as cleanliness goes, but everytime we walked across the carpets with our white socks on, they turned black in a real hurry. I don't know when the last time they cleaned the carpets was, but it made you think that if the carpets were that nasty, what other "hidden" dirtiness was present??? Overall, it wasn't too bad of a place with location, breakfast and value big plusses...
