Most recent user reviewsScore 2 out of 5 almost, but not quite, ordinary garland, 2007-02-04 IHOP, McDonalds, Schlotzky's is within walking distance. More serious dining, such as steak houses requires a drive of several miles.1) The room was clean but most things were worn and a little tired. Elevator had graffiti on the walls and there were many dings and chips in the walls of the elevator and the motel in general. A free breakfast was a little better than usual and I ate it, but I recommend the IHOP that is next door. 2) There was a non-smoking floor, but smoking was permitted in the halls and stairwells, as it was on other floors. As a result, the entire motel smelled strongly of cigarettes. A plus, I suppose, for smokers but a detriment to non-smokers. 3) I don't really appreciate being greeted with "Hi, Bub","Can you wait a minute, Bub?". I've lived in Texas most of my life, at that is not done anywhere. 4) Access to West bound IH40 is a little difficult and one will almost certainly miss the exit to the motel on the first try. Also I generally don't prefer high rise facilities requiring the use of an elevator. Otherwise the hotel was fine. Score 5 out of 5 Wonderful Stay Michelle, 2006-09-17 The Tri State Fair Grounds in just around the corner.The Days Inn Amarillo, Texas was very clean, the staff was very freindly and helpful. There was no waiting for our room. It was ready to go when we arrived. Easy check in process and check out. The continental breakfast was excellent. Everything was very clean and very satisfactory. The location was excellent for what we were in Amarillo for. Did not have to drive far or fight a lot of traffic. I would stay again. THE MATTRESS WAS SOMEWHAT UNCOMFORTABLE. THE STAFF WAS FRIENDLY. THE BREAKFAST BUFFET WAS GOOD. THE LOCATION WAS GOOD FOR US BECAUSE IT WAS RIGHT OFF THE HIGHWAY. IT WAS ALSO NEXT TO A IHOP AND MCDONALD'S. |
