The rooms are not very clean and the beds are very uncomfortable. For the price I would prefer staying at a newer hotel. Score 5 out of 5 Nice hotel Anonymous, New Orleans, LA, 2007-03-11 Close to the Big TexanThe Ambassador was probably the nicest hotel in Amarillo. If we ever had to go back, we would probably stay there again. Score 5 out of 5 Top notch Service Anonymous, Boston, MA, 2006-10-27 Dyers BBQ has great BBQ. Large portions at a great priceThe Ambassador hotel was very comfortable with large well kept rooms. The staff was extreemly polite and professional, as well as very helpful. Being able to get a shuttle to the airport at 4:00 was also helpful. Score 5 out of 5 Quiet in spite of size Phillip, Houston, TX, 2006-08-19 Try to visit June to mid August to get to see "Texas' at the Palo Duro Canyon Amphitheater. The location of the Ambassador Hotel Amarillo was in a convenient location just off the major highway system. The full breakfast offering in the main lobby was a plus and the food was very good for the price. I would recommend this hotel to others. Score 4 out of 5 Review Michael, Dallas, TX, 2006-07-31 No review provided by user Score 2 out of 5 Dirty sheets!!!! rebecca, 2006-07-10 The Ambassador hotel appeared to be very nice, and is located in a decent neighborhood in Amarillo. We paid a little more for this hotel, but figured it would just be a nice place to stay over night on our road trip home from Colorado. We arrived pretty late, and when we pulled back the blankets on the beds, we discovered that the sheets hadn't been changed. It was clearly evident that these were dirty sheets. There were make-up smudges on one pillowcase, and dry crusty stuff on another. There was body hair all over the fitted sheets on both beds. We called room service and told them we needed new sheets. When they arrived, they were too big for the queen size beds, and we had to make up the beds ourselves. The next morning we wanted to make a cup of coffee in the pot provided by the hotel, only there was no coffee. The coffee in the lobby wasn't complimentary, and I refused to pay 1.59 for something they should have provided in our room. There wasn't a floor mat in the bathroom, and the floors were slimy. When we checked out I told the girl working the front desk about all of the problems we had encountered. Her only reply was "oh" We will not stay at this hotel again while passing through Amarillo. The location was good almost directly in the middle of everything. Score 2 out of 5 Friendly Vickey, Denver, CO, 2006-05-28 great places for the whole family to eat. This was the worst place to sleep. The head of the bed was lower than the foot end. Not a good way to sleep and relax and be comfortable. They were in great need of new beds. Nice desk. Great closet space. Good Location and TGI Friday's food was great! |
