Score 1 out of 5 Needs Attention Anonymous, Dallas, TX, 2006-02-27 Upon arrival to the hotel there were 6 police cars outside the entrance. Asked what was going on, answer not much. I shared with the clerk that I was staying at the hotel to visit my daughters (5 and 3 years of age)for the weekend and did not feel comfortable with the scene upon arrival. She assured me that the goings on were not such that I should worry. I checked in and received my key to go and take a look at the room. The elevator was out of service and would have to take the stairs. The amount of trash throughout the hotel alarmed me even more. The room was in shambles. To make a long story short, I went to another hotel. Score 1 out of 5 Don't do it Charlie, Austin, TX, 2006-02-26 The Mardi-Gras celebration in Port Arthur, 30 miles south was great.This hotel was very dirty. It was filled with Hurricane refugees who had no respect for manners, cleanliness (The lobby had trash everywhere)or other people. I had someone knocking on my door at three in the morning. (I didn't answer). Perhaps when the occupiers have looted everything, and their free ride is over the owners will spend some of their money and repair/clean the place. Our toilet overflowed twice.
