Most recent user reviewsScore 5 out of 5 GOOD HOTEL FOR SMALL PRICE Alexis, 2007-02-25 right by the interstate so the mall was only a 10 minute driveTHE Microtel Inn & Suites Amarillo was a nice suprise for the price. there was window set that would fit for a child to sleep on. so the room would actually sleep 5 nicely. the pool is small but perfect for kids not to big or too deep( 3 to 5 feet). the pool also was open until 11 which is nice after driving. Pam, 2006-11-12 We were there for action at the Civic Center. We were only about 8 blocks away, it was an easy commute.The Microtel Inn & Suites was very comfortable. I loved the shower curtain, it was rounded out so that it did not get wet and stick to you and get you cold like most of them do. The mirrowed wal was great. It actually had a closet, which most do not. The beautiful window seat was a nice touch. The hair dryer and ironing board were not bad either. This room also had a refrigerator and microwave, it was very handy. The check in was very easy, and the staff very friendly. We did not have time to try out the pool or hot tub but I did see them and they were clean and looked great. We had to be up to meet people early and did not have the chance to check out the breakfast there. Would I stay there again? You bet! Score 5 out of 5 Review Anonymous, 2006-11-10 A&W across the streetScore 3 out of 5 cheap and basic susan, 2006-10-07 location was fine for conference I attended only for one night stay spray on carpets was oppressive to point we had to open window for fresh air (neither have allergies just odor was overpowering) TV was perched on "armoir" almost to ceiling...too high for bed viewing beds were VERY comfortable and had tood night's sleep lighting was ghoulish(white, energy-saver, long-lasting, spiral bulbs)no lamps with some incandescent lighting or diffuse white florescent lighting...even behind ceiling panel, consealed lighting was harsh...covers needed for recessed lighting to soften light Bathroom was clean and TUB was big and comfortable lighting over sink was again harsh, white and glaring(no eye issues)...makeup distortion because of this and had to check when got to car to make sure makeup wasn't beyond necessary For short cheap one-night it was OK but couldn't recommend for longer grounds looked basic green...entry desk was basic... The location was perfect, near the freeway. I would stay there again in the future when I am in the area. Although not large, plenty of space for one or two people with one closet, small dresser, desk and I especially liked having a refrigerator and microwave oven. The bathtub was wonderful to lie in for a relaxing bubble bath. There was a very nice continental breakfast every morning so there is no need to dress up and go out early in the morning. Score 5 out of 5 Friendly folks Mary, 2006-02-28 Sadly we were in town for a funeral, so we weren't able to enjoy all of the amenities the area had to offer. But, there was a fantastic Mexican restaurant nearby.The Microtel in Amarillo Texas has a very friendly staff and the rooms were very clean. The only thing we didn't like (this is sad, I know) was that the television was bolted too high to watch comfortably and it wouldn't pivot. There was only one place in the room where you could see the screen clearly. The staff took great care in meeting any needs we had. They were very prompt and courteous. I would recommend this hotel to family and friends. |
