The Days Inn Texas Tech was very clean and pleasant to stay at. It is also an easy walk to the Texas Tech Campus. I enjoyed the Continental Breakfast Buffet especially the waffle maker. It was very convient for me to get my child settled at Texas Tech University. I look forward to staying there again while visiting my child.

Close to Texas Tech

If you are visiting for a football game at Texas Tech or a campus tour you can walk across the street and be there.

The Days Inn in Lubbock was a stones throw away from Texas Tech. Unfortunately with our late arrival, the rooms air conditioner was not on and the room on the third floor was very warm. When the wall unit was turned it did cool the room down after 25 minutes, but at 3 AM it seemed like a long 25 minutes when all you wanted to do was fall into bed. The sheets were like sleeping on sandpaper, rough and scratchy. Since our room was on the backside of the hotel, it was quiet and we did not hear the moise fron the street. The hotel did have an elevator so we didn't have to climb 3 flights of stairs. There is no sleep button on the remote control for the TV. The vanity and sink was seperate from the shower and the rest of the bathroom. Electrical outlets were sparce in the room so locating enough to plug in phone chargers and hair dryers, curling irons meant unplugging some of the lamps.

Disappointing and Dreary

Necessary to travel a few miles to Slide Road to find restaurants, etc.

We were surprised and disappointed at the Days Inn. We had never been there and were not familiar with where to stay in Lubbock, so thought a Days Inn would be a good place. The room was like a tomb, very small, dirty light fixtures broken and hanging, hair dryer did not work. Cockroaches running everywhere on the sidewalk right outside our room, trash and weeds was the view from our door. The only bright spot about this visit was the desk attendant when we checked in - very friendly and gracious - so we were especially surprised at the accommodations once we got to our room. Very dirty around the pool area - which was covered and obviously was not in working condition.

It's close to texas tech and a 7eleven is right next door.

It was right accross from the school and the free breakfast was actualy better than most. They had waffles that were shaped like Texas and real orange juice.

Close to Texas Tech

This Days Inn is very close to the Texas Tech campus. Rooms are okay not great. The one we stayed in was clean and newly remodeled, but it was right across from the laundry building. The price was good for the quality of rooms we had.

The Days Inn Texas Tech is not a place that I would recommend to anyone. The floors and light switches were filthy. On top of the lack of cleanliness I felt very unsafe at this location. When I arrived my room was on the back of the hotel and because there were lights out I had to walk down a very dark corridor. The next day I requested to move to a different room so that I might could be near my co worker on the front of the building. I was told that they really did not have anything for the guranteed price. Plus, on one of my last nights I had just gotten back from the office when someone knocked at my co workers door asking for bus fare.

What over shadowed my experience at the hotel was the fact that the carpet appeared to NOT have been vacuumed for who knows how long. When I took off my shoes and walked on the carpet barefoot, I could feel that the carpet was dirty. I looked down at the carpet carefully and observed hair and all kinds of dirt, which initially was not visible on the dark colored carpet. So I walked into the bathroom, and there was so much little debrie around the doors leading into the bathroom, as if it had never been vacuumed. With this in mind, I put my shoes back on. So, if hotel maids do not clean the floor, do they actually change the sheets and towels? I did not like this thought, and it completely overshadowed my one night stay at the hotel. It is too bad for the hotel that I had this experience, because everything else appeared fine; the bed appeared comfortable, everything worked well (faucets, a/c, locks, lights, etc.) Unless in dire straits, I would not stay here again.
