Most recent user reviewsScore 5 out of 5 nice hotel darrin, New York, NY macdonalds 2 blocks away open 24hrs, gas station 1 block away open 24 hrs selling food.not much of a walkway on elvis presley bvld.there is a bus stop right outside the hotel with local bus service to downtown but not that regular.the hotel is located exellently for gracelands and all the attractions, its far from downtown and did not tell me i could get a free bus from heartbreak hotel to town. At the airport i just called the hotel and i got a free shuttle to pick me up, however when i wanted the free shuttle to take me back to the airport to get my 12.45pm flight i was told there was no free shuttle and i had to get a taxi, this was a cost of $10. I also found that the staff always asked what i wanted in the room insted of just coming in and checking, i was there 5days and not 1 time did they enter and make the bed, this could be because they are 2/3 star hotel but not sure, when i did ask for towels they were brought rightaway. At night you only had a vending machine to offer you chocolate/potatoe chips but no soda's. Score 4 out of 5 Close to Graceland Anonymous, 2007-02-26 The hotel was close to Graceland, but I was not impressed with the neighborhood. Our faucet in the bathroom dripped badly. It was like a steady stream of water. For the price, it was okay. I would however try to stay at another hotel if I could next time around. Score 5 out of 5 GREAT for the price!! Paige, 2006-12-30 Good BBQ .... can't remember the name but had something to do with pink cadillac/pink pig. This hotel was a great deal!! Our room was clean and more nicely decorated than I expected. It was a neat experience with all the Elvis stuff. The outside "grounds" of the hotel were immaculately clean. Staff was nice and unintrusive. Free breakfast was good. You couldn't get a better location to see Graceland. We were actually there for the Liberty Bowl (Go Gamecocks!) and the location was just minutes from everthing we wanted to do. We heard horror stories about this side of town....but saw nothing of the sort first hand. If I were going to Memphis again, I would probably try to stay downtown, but if there are no rooms available downtown, and/or you can't afford double the price for a downtown room...this is a wonderful alternative.
