During your Nashville vacation, don't miss these great establishments and attractions:
Van Vechten Gallery
If you're an art lover, don't miss a visit to this small, often overlooked treasure of a museum at Fisk University. Housed in an historic, redbrick building at the edge of the campus, it showcases part of famed photographer Alfred Stieglitz's art collection, which was donated by the photographer's widow, renowned artist Georgia O'Keeffe. Marvel at the evocative, black-and-white photos by Stieglitz and colorful abstract paintings by O'Keeffe. Rounding out this impressive collection are pieces by Diego Rivera as well as such European masters as Picasso, Cézanne, Toulouse-Lautrec, and Renoir. Allow 1 to 2 hours.
Fort Nashborough
Though it's much smaller than the original, this reconstruction of Nashville's first settlement includes several buildings that faithfully reproduce what life in this frontier outpost was like in the late 18th century. The current fort looks oddly out of place in modern downtown Nashville, but if you're interested in Tennessee's early settlers, this site is worth a brief look. Allow 30 minutes or more if you've got kids who want to play here.
Travellers Rest Historic House Museum
Built in 1799, Travellers Rest, as its name implies, once offered gracious Southern hospitality to travelers passing through a land that had only recently been settled. Judge John Overton (who, along with Andrew Jackson and Gen. James Winchester, founded the city of Memphis) built Travellers Rest. Overton also served as a political advisor to Jackson when he ran for president. Among the period furnishings you'll see in this restored Federal-style farmhouse is the state's largest public collection of pre-1840 Tennessee-made furniture. Allow an hour to tour the museum, and more if you want to wander the grounds and outbuildings.

My review of Best Western Music Row

Tia

The hotel was in a good location but you had to drive about a mile to downtown. It's a little confusing how to get there but once you figure it out it is fine.

Good Value

Terrance, Miami, FL, 2006-12-30

Shopping and resturants nearby. We had dinner at Dan McGuinesses Good food,Good People and Great Guiness and the kicker, reasonabily priced. If your in the mood for Southern Unique Cusine try the South Street Resturant just a short distance west of the Music Row-Best Western.

The Best Western-Music Row was exactly what I was looking for in Nashville. A reasonablely priced hotel with clean rooms, well maintained facilities, and a cheerful staff ready to assist in any way. While we were there,we wanted to do some Honky Tonkin so we took a cab downtown, it cost $4.00 each way. Another nice find was a upscaled strip shopping center one block away with a good variety of eateries.Although not directly Downtown it is situated in the Happening Part of Town .

Very friendly staff

Anonymous, Louisville, KY, 2006-11-27

If you like Chinese food, PF Changs is a short drive away. Very good.

The Best Western Music Row has a very pleasing atmosphere and was very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was very good for us because we wanted to be near the University which was about 5 minutes away. I think it is good quality for the price.

Great location for musicians!

Anonymous, 2006-09-23

Once downtown, Nashville has the air of big city in a small town. You feel safe at night-pleanty of police present, everyone has a good time. If you like to hear people playing music, because that was what they were meant to do- Nashville is the place. Something for every age too!

The Best Western Music Row hotel is located in a perfect place for Nashville music business needs. Has great entertainment, was clean and quiet, and they place their guests on floors depending upon their needs. Breakfast was decent- but more dining options would be welcomed I'm sure by the patrons. Easy in and out, and the staff was accomodating. Elevators a little slow- but only an issue during peak times. We were pleased!

Location is very convenient

Anonymous, Allentown, PA, 2006-08-19

Best Western Music Row is a stone's throw from Demonbreun St. which has the Tin Roof (restaurant), Caffeine (cafe), Flavour (amazing boutique), and many other little shops.

I stay in the Best Western Music Row every time I go to Nashville because it is always right near where I need to go. The people at the front desk are always very courteous and go out of their way to help you! The rooms are comfortable and clean- the only thing that is annoying about the rooms are the plugs (there aren't many and they are in inconvenient spots). The wireless Internet access is free, and that is another reason why this hotel is at the top of my list.

Functional

Anonymous, Philadelphia, PA, 2006-08-07

Lots of bars downtown but you need to drive.

The hotel is nothing fancy but it definitely works. Our room was so-so in terms of cleanliness; we had a fridge that had leaked and left a large wet spot in the carpet. Housekeeping was flexible with our strange schedule and in general, the staff were friendly. Breakfast is donuts and coffee, but it's free.
