Wave Country
This water park is located just off Briley Parkway about a mile from the old Opryland USA and is a summertime must for kids of all ages. There's a huge wave pool and plenty of water slides. Kids will have no objection to spending the entire day here.

Tennessee Walking Horse Museum
The Tennessee walking horse, named for its unusual high-stepping walking gait, is considered the world's premier breed of show horse, and it is here in the rolling hills of middle Tennessee that most of these horses are bred. Using interactive videos, hands-on exhibits, and other displays, this museum presents the history of the Tennessee walking horse. Though the exhibits here will appeal primarily to equine enthusiasts, there is also much for the casual visitor to learn and enjoy. The annual Tennessee Walking-Horse National Celebration, held each August here in Shelbyville, is one of middle Tennessee's most important annual events. Tennessee walkers can also be seen going through their paces at various other annual shows in the Nashville area.

The Frist Center for the Visual Arts
Opened in April 2001, the Frist Center for the Visual Arts brings world-class art exhibits to the historic downtown post office building. The nonprofit center does not maintain a permanent collection but rather presents exhibitions from around the globe. Upstairs, the ArtQuest Gallery encourages visitors to explore a range of art experiences through more than 30 interactive multimedia stations. Creative kids and likeminded adults could spend hours here.In addition to the high quality of its exhibitions, the Frist is free to visitors 18 and under, making it an excellent value as well. Coming exhibitions in 2004: Jacob Lawrence: The Migration Series from the Phillips Collection, featuring the 20th-century American artist's works tracing the movement of blacks from the rural South to the industrial North between the first and second world wars. Running concurrently will be an exhibition of European masterworks from the same collection, by artists including Cézanne, Monet, Degas, Picasso, and Gauguin. Looking farther ahead, the Frist's next blockbuster exhibition is slated for June to early October 2006. Quest for Immortality: Treasures of Ancient Egypt is being billed as the largest group of antiquities ever on loan from Egypt for North America.Constructed during the Depression, Nashville's main post office is home to the Frist Center for the Arts. Classical and Art Deco architectural styles are prominent within the marble and gray-pink granite building, which is on the National Register of Historic Places. Intricate grillwork celebrates icons of American progress: an airplane, a locomotive, a ship, and an automobile. Among other achievements represented in the icons: scientific research (a microscope, test tube, and flask), harvesting (a sheaf of wheat and sickle), industry (cogwheels), publishing (a book press), sowing (a hand plow), metalwork (a hammer and anvil), the pursuit of knowledge (the lamp of learning resting on books), and nautical endeavors (a dolphin and propeller).

Unfriendly Staff

There were 3 resteraunts within walking distance and fast food place as well. Walgreens close by as well. As for location, we were in a close to all

This is not what I expected from this establishment. We were never even spoken to from ANY of the staff, except at check-in. This was a very unfriendly staff. As for the room, there were 3 of us in the room. We had to go and get more towels and washclots everyday. We were supplied with 2 of each. It was just inconvient. The shower head leaked all over and there was next to no water pressure. There was no exhaust fan either. It was a little worn down.

Great value, helpful staff

Spacious, nice room, especially for the money. Hotel staff was helpful in finding me an extra blanket. Nice art on the walls in the room. Bed was comfortable enough. The breakfast was pretty good, and free with the stay. One problem, the shower made a noise that was pretty loud. In room movies a little pricey. Neighborhood was nice and there was a good restaurant nearby for dinner (hotel staff recommended for us). Overall, great and would return.

This was a very convenient and pleasant hotel! Nice friendly check in desk staff. Everybody had a smile on their faces and made my stay very nice.

Everyone and everything was great except for the bed. It was horrible, hurts my back each time I am there. Other than that it is a very nice place.

It's close to dining and shopping.

I truly enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The staff was very friendly and attended to our every need. My family espeacially the complimentary breakfast.
