Most recent user reviewsScore 4 out of 5 Very family friendly Anonymous, Brussels, 2006-07-31 I wanted to stay another 2 days but I can not afford it because of the price went up so. Score 1 out of 5 Property not safe! Joanna, 2006-07-06 When we arrived, we noticed that our door didn't latch shut very well, but the hotel had no vacancies so they couldn't offer us a different room. We were very careful when coming and going to double-check the door latched shut and was locked, but the cleaning staff wasn't as careful. As a result, they had left our door open, and someone broke into the room and stole over $1000 in cash, jewelry, and personal electronics (MP3 player). The hotel staff called the police and that's about it. It is their responsibility to ensure properly functioning doors and staff who care enough about security to pull the door shut! The hotel manager said he would file a claim with their insurance company to reimburse us for the loss, but we've been following up with the property manager every day and so far he's done nothing. Our vacation was ruined...we had no credit cards left, very little cash, and no keys to the rental car. Despite the hard situation we were in, the property manager wouldn't even comp our room or give us vouchers to the hotel restaurant so we could eat dinner that day. Now I have to hire an attorney to collect on the money owed to us. Stay elsewhere...it's worth the extra $20 a night to have peace of mind and security. Score 5 out of 5 very couple friendly michelle, Charlotte, NC, 2005-10-15 Theres a very nice pool, and your only a few blocks from the pavillion(amusement park). One block from wings, you can buy reasonably priced trasures and supplies. We were very pleased with our room, the balcony was very pleasant and private, also a wonderful veiw. The kitchen was small but had everything that we needed already there. there was a coffeepot, dishes, silverware, cups, just everything you needed to feel at home. Plenty of towels, and if you asked staff for anything it was taken care of right away. As for the location, we were close to all kinds of shops and resturants. I would recommend Sandcastle Oceanfront Resort at the Pavillion to all my friends and family. We had a wonderful stay. The neighborhood was safe, it was right on the ocean, and since we were with friends, we barely spent any time in the room.when we did, teh room was comfortable and clean. Score 4 out of 5 oceanfront rooms Anonymous, Pittsburgh, PA, 2005-08-08 only a couple of blocks down from the hotel are little places to shop, dont miss them!!!our oceanfront room was awesome, if you ever get a chance to stay here, spend the exxtra money and get one, they are great. Score 2 out of 5 Good location, bad service Anonymous, Greenville, SC, 2005-08-06 Right on the beach, the pavilion is a 5-10 minute walk. There's a good pizza place across from the Breakers 2 blocks down the street. While the location of this hotel is good (close to the Pavilion), the service here will leave you wanting more. We were told we couldn't have an extra pillow, the check-in clerk was unfriendly and we were stuffed into an elevator with two dumpsters fill of hotel garbage. The rooms are a little larger than normal but are old and aren't well maintained. The beds and furniture were very old and uncomfortable. The room is good for the money but not if you plan to spend a lot of time in your room. It just wasn't very comfortable. Score 1 out of 5 Don't Stay Here Anonymous, Greenville, SC, 2005-08-01 This hotel was a big disapointment. For the price we were paying, we expected a resort. Check-in was horrific. I stood in line for about 15 minutes. Then one of the two clerks was called into the back room. From where I was standing, I could see him eating pizza and chatting with another employee. He left me and another lady standing there all that time and then couldn't finish with the check-ins before he ate. I was not happy. The rooms had keys instead of key cards. I asked for two. They only had one to fit our room. It was very hard to park to unload our luggage and then you had to cross two streets to get to the parking garage. The elevator was slow and the hallways smelled bad. The only thing good about the hotel was that the room was clean. We did not use any of the other facilities. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. Score 1 out of 5 Not a "Resort" BRANDI, 2005-07-27 I guess the title "Resort" threw me off the most, because we expected a certain level of amenities. We paid a $10 cash deposit to get our keys and had to park two blocks away from the hotel. We then discovered a very lengthy wait time for the elevator - that was true for our entire stay (even the staff complained). Upon check-in, we realized that there was no coffee pot, TV remote, iron or clock in the room. In addition, the majority of the hotel staff were rude. However, the room had a side view of the ocean - with a balcony so small you had to sit sideways, and the air conditioning worked! |
