Water play for whole family

Since this is located on Myrtle Beach, there are a lot of restaurants, shopping centers, miniature golf courses, and regular golf courses around, not to mention two water parks, two amusement parks, and of course the beach.

The Ocean Dunes Resort has several options for the family beach experience. It is sitated right on the beach with only a short walk to the water's edge. The beach is wide enough though to sit at, sunbathe or make sand castles. For those who enjoy the poolside experience, this is also an option. The hotel has a regular-sized pool with a lot of pool chairs, a bar, and often plays music. For children, there is also a miniature waterpark with a lazy river, shallow pool and huge water "gym". This amenity is a lot of fun and the family could easily spend a couple of days enjoying it and the beach next to it.

Nice for the price

Head up 17 N to the Galleria, to the Southern Market; great sandwiches. Also, another great restaurant in the same area is Baron's; all organic, home-grown foods. Wonderful!

Very pretty view, elevators were slow and spotty. We were one floor up from a bunch of drunken frat boys, who didn't shut up until nearly 4 a.m.; hotel staff was no help there. Still, the beds were comfortable and clean and everything worked. Kind of a funky odor near the itsy-bitsy refrigerator, and the stairwell wasn't particularly well-lit. Great access to the beach, and in a lovely neighborhood.
