Most recent user reviewsScore 4 out of 5 Vacation on Fripp Island Anonymous, Fort Wayne, IN, 2006-07-05 tell abou the golf carts to rent or bikes ahead of time.As a family we had a great time, only it was not a hotel that we spent the time in, it was a rental home on the island. They had left it very clean for us , but since this weekend was the 4th and the island was full they had expreinced power outages. One night the power was off from 9:00pm till 3:30 AM, that was hot night and dark, for we could not locate any matches in the house, they had candles and since none of us smoked, we had no means to light the candles. The next day was the 4th and there were parts on the island still without power so the market and several resturants were closed. It is a very nice ,safe place to have a family vacation, the house across the street was a very nice family from North Carolina and every one that we spoke to was pleasant and nice. I was not aware that the best way to get around the island was on a golf cart , we did not get one, all rented out, but we did have bikes and rode around the island on them. Overall it was a very nice place, just the problem with the power put the damper on a few of the days that we were there. Score 5 out of 5 Great Place for a Retreat Carolyn, 2006-04-16 Hunting Island State Park was a short walk across the bridge. You could enjoy the nature trails, the viewing areas, and the picnic areas. The Fripp Island Resort was an excellent place to visit. This was my first visit, but it won't be my last. The unit I had faced the marsh, and it was an awesome view. The villa was very spacious and comfortable. I liked the screened balcony. My meals were enjoyed without the bothersome insects. Being across from the beach was convenient. I would have preferred to have an ocean front or ocean view villa, but since I booked a day before arrival, I was very satisfied with my accommodations. The location was good because it was about an hour's drive from Savannah, GA and I didn't want to travel far for a weekend of R & R. I will definitely return. Score 4 out of 5 Not so Friendly Resort Personnel Anonymous, Atlanta, GA, 2005-05-30 The condo was fabulous and so were the amenities! But the staff was not so helpful. The only staff that was extremely friendly were the interns. The island was amazing. The local wildlife was so accustom to being around humans that you could walk right up to the deer. We even saw an alligator! |
