The front was inviting and the hotel staff was excellent. The room was big, I had the 2 double beds. The chairs were very comfortable and so was the bed. The are was full of shopping and restaurants. Score 1 out of 5 Poor Management Peter, Durham/Raleigh, NC, 2007-03-07 Left room around 8:30 w/ sign to please service room. Returned @ 2:30 and room had still not been cleaned. We took our dog with us when we left so that she wouldn,t interfere with the staff. When we returned we expected to drop her off and return to town. When contacting the manager about our room not having been made-up, and the inconvenience that this caused, his response was what's your problem - we have until 5PM to clean the rooms. Our discussion ended there. There complimentary breakfast was not very complimentary. There are to many good places in Charleston to have to repeat this experience. Score 5 out of 5 Great Value Anonymous, Washington, DC, 2006-10-25 Just a short easy drive from the many attractions we visited in the area.Best Western offered a comfortable room at a convenient location. Score 2 out of 5 Review Sherri, Greenville, SC, 2006-08-28 The pizza place across the street has the best pizza in town!!!I was very disappointed with the room and the bathroom. The carpet was very dirty and the room seemed so dark. The breakfast area ran out of waffle mix so they only poured a half a cup of mix and when you cooked it it burned. I would not stay there again. Not nice enough for the money. Score 5 out of 5 Southern Comfort anna, Hilton Head, SC, 2006-07-17 All the stores a good shopper could want within a short driving distance. From "cutesy" Charleston souviniers to stylish botiques.Located just on the outskirts of town, convient to all places of interest. Even though located on a main Hwy., this hotel is set back off the road and out of sight of any of the traffic. Large comfortable rooms separate vanity area. In room refrigerator, microwave & coffee maker. Almost like home. Complimentary breakfast is served off the lobby with a small area for seating. True Southern Hospitality all the way! Score 4 out of 5 Review Anonymous, 2006-06-19 short driving distance to downtown Charleston and also around 15 minute drive to Folly Beach and around 10 minutes to James Island Park.Score 3 out of 5 Review Anonymous, 2006-05-01 No review provided by user Score 2 out of 5 Not so convenient Anonymous, Nashville, TN, 2006-04-16 Catholic church - Blessed Sacrament - was a 5 minute drive straight down the street. While the area seemed safe and was fairly convenient to travelling to downtown Charleston, we had a couple of problems. First, every other day we were locked out of our room because the hotel automatically resets the room key codes. Since we were staying for 10 days, this lockout got annoying pretty quickly. On top of that, one night we forgot to lock the rental car and the next morning it had been broken into and a gold ring was stolen (luckily that was the only thing of value we left in the car), so we had to waste time filing a police report. So far, the ring has not been recovered. The room itself was okay and the staff was pleasant enough. The air conditioning unit was pretty loud. Would we return - probably not for the money we spent, we could have done a lot better if we had booked earlier and there was not so many visitors in the area at the same time we needed to be there. |
