Most recent user reviewsScore 4 out of 5 Nice But Needs Updating James The Mello Mushroom was a cool restaurant that served pizza, salads and other assorted items. It was casual and the servers were really nice. I dined by myself and it seemed normal in this place. The hotel's staff was very nice. The lobby and common area were great. A great feature was the gym pass to a real gym just around the corner. The hotel had a musty smoke smell in the hallways in in my room. I think that they were updating the lights in the hallway because there were single bulbs hanging along the way. Overall it was nice. Score 4 out of 5 Excellent Location Jacob Great restaurants all around.Everything is close to the King Charles. Restaurants, city tours, shopping, and bars are all just a few blocks away. I recommend the King's Street Grille, it's a great place to watch the game while your girlfriend is down the street shopping. Score 2 out of 5 Walls too thin Anonymous, 2007-03-09 My experience was one I will not forget. While attempting to work from my hotel room, I had the unpleasant experience of hearing the man and woman in the room next to me as they screamed and moaned during sex. Even turning my TV volume up made no diffence as I also had to deal with the banging of the headboard on the wall next to my bed. It was VERY unpleasant. I could also hear the conversation from the same romm as I attempted to go to sleep. For the lack of privace and the discomfort others may feel in the same situation I would not return nor recommend this hotel. Score 1 out of 5 Demolition Vacation Michael, Springfield, IL, 2006-11-02 Check out Patriots point by car and walk in every direction from the market. We walked 11-miles the first full day we were there and it seemed like a short jaunt the streets and sidewalks are so friendly and there is so much to see in terms of history and southern atmosphere. The Best Western King Charles Inn, CHARLESTON, SC was the only bad part of a ten day southern vacation. We loved Charleston and the hotel was convenient. The place was a disaster with mold growing on the air conditioner and sheet rock dust everywhere. Score 5 out of 5 Super convenient and nice Anonymous, Norfolk, VA, 2006-04-09 The market and great dining are all within a short walk of the hotel, making it extremely conveient. The Best Western King Charles was a great place for my family. It was within walking distance of everything in Downtown Charleston. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The pool is beautiful, but a little small and outside; but the patio around the pool was large, gorgeous and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was limited but the staff was very helpful. There is an afternoon happy hour that is a very good value for hotel fare. Score 5 out of 5 Family friendly, great locale Mary, New York, NY, 2005-10-30 You are in the heart of charleston. You can walk to everything. You are literally at the historicmarket, the waterfront is a 5 minute walk as is the french quatere and many excellent restaurants- 82 Queen St., Jestines is next door, Magnolias, Blossoms, MoSussmans is an excellent new restaurant right across the street. The hotel is upgrading the lobby and the common area. It is small but adequate. They have a breakfast which is very expensive but that is the only meal. The pool is small but cute and has a fountain which my kids enjoyed. The staff was very accomodating- made all reservations for meals and tours as requested. Score 4 out of 5 Review Anonymous, Memphis, TN, 2005-09-24 No review provided by user |
