The room was comfortable and the service was friendly. Staff Went out of their way to accomadate you. Score 4 out of 5 Good Place To Stay in Center City Anonymous, New York, NY THe Latham has a bery good location in Cneter City, convenient for business travel to Philly. Although the hotel needs a bit of a face lift, it still is a good place to stay for the money. The amenities, such as the bar and restaurant needs to addressed -- the faciltiies are not not there now, but otherwise, I thought it the Latham me my needs for my visit to Philly Score 5 out of 5 Great for business or family Anonymous Rouge has excellent burgers.Score 5 out of 5 Perfect location Anonymous Great restaurants within blocks of the hotel. Try Alma de Cuba, Le Bec Fin,or any others. The Latham is a solid hotel, located in the midst of all Philly hs to offer. While the hotel is not much of a destination in itself (like a spa or resort) it was a perfect homebase for a weekend of sampling Philly's restaurants, shopping and sites. The staff was exceedingly friendly and capable and the room fulfilled our needs. I would recommend this hotel to any business or pleasure travellers who are more interested in taking advantage of the city than spending $ on a "luxury" hotel. Much better than a big nameless chain hotel. Great value. Score 5 out of 5 Great location, friendly staff Anonymous, Washington, DC, 2007-03-14 Two blocks from main shopping area and an easy walk to Reading marketThe Lanham is located within walking distance of just about every place of interest to a tourist and is also business-friendly. It is a small hotel and the staff is very attentive. Rooms are a good size, well set up and comfortable. There are good restaurants nearby. We entrusted the car to the hotel's valet parking and either walked or took cabs. Score 5 out of 5 Excellent location. Anonymous, New York, NY, 2007-02-05 Lots of places to eat in the area, from very inexpensive to expensive. Lots of shopping in the area, and within easy walking distance of both the historic area and museum row.Very nice staff & accomidations. The room was a good size, and the beds very comfortabel. The staff was friendly and helpful. A very good value for such a centerally located hotel. Score 5 out of 5 Middle of it all Robert, 2007-02-01 This is on 17th and Walnut right in the middle of it all. If you want close walking distance to all the nice restraunts and shopping then this is a great place. For the price this dig ended up being a great deal. I originally had a friend staying with me so I got two double beds. I asked if they had a room with smoking and single queen instead when I checked in. The lady at the front desk told me no, but she did have a corner smoking room with a king for no extra charge. I was quite happy. I got to smoke in bed too which is something I cannot do at my home. Center City is fairly quiet at night time too, so it being on the third floor was not too noisy with the thick windows the Latham had. No amenities like pool or anything, but if your looking for a nice place to just sleep in comfort and have great location this will be a place I frequent again Score 5 out of 5 The Latham Anonymous, West Palm Beach, FL, 2006-11-23 Excellent dining options within one block of the hotel. The Latham was a great historic hotel. The room was comfortable, the location was excellent, and the staff was efficient and courteous. The internet access was not great after day one, but I was not charged for dial up. The only complaint is that I left items in the room and was not contacted when promised and I never received them. The hotel restaurant was closed during my stay , but fabulous dining options were less than a block away. Score 5 out of 5 Perfect and Unique Anonymous, Portland, OR, 2006-11-03 I loved this hotel! It was the perfect size for two people. It felt as though I were staying in my own apartment. Everything was unique, including the bedding, furnishings, bathroom-not like a 'business' hotel at all. Being smack in the middle of downtown was also a bonus. I wanted a different experience from the standard business travel hotel and that's exactly what I got! I'll definitely go back!
