Most recent user reviewsScore 4 out of 5 great location, unfriendly staff, older bathrooms Anonymous, Philadelphia, PA, 2007-02-17 take extra parking money and use the free in room safe! use the free shuttle..save on gas!The Comfort Inn Downtown - PHILADELPHIA, PA was a bit expensive for what you get but compared to others around cheaper. No pool sucks. Parking fees suck and are extra sneaky expense $22. Staff barely smiles, and seem bothered when asked to do simple tasks. ****now for the positive*** Wonderfull view of the river from top floors. Clean room and you get a free safe for your valuables. Shuttle is a plus. Shuttle on time. Breakfast was good....fresh waffles and plenty of fruit and tea. Dave and Busters very close...go before 5pm on week days..more space and good deals! On weekends they add $5 cover charge per person. If you are traveling and need to catch a plane in the am, excellant location and easy access to the Airport. The room was very comfortble. The only negative thing I could say is the bathroom could use a little updating otherwise, i would reccomend this hotel to anyone... Score 5 out of 5 Awkard location Ellis, Columbus, OH, 2005-12-12 Except for the shuttle to go to other areas I did not experience any other recommended extra services. It seems that without transportation the location was difficult. The shuttle did not run from noon to 4pm and the Resturant down the street (within walking distance) was closed Sat. and Sun. nights for private parties so I could not get dinner except to order out to a sandwich/pizza shop. I am not saying I did not like the Hotel but I would probably not recommend this as a vacation hotel to stay in while one tries to explore Philidelphia. Score 4 out of 5 Review Anonymous, 2005-11-26 US mint - Liberty Bell - are a short walk away.Score 5 out of 5 My review of Comfort Inn Downtown - Philadelphia Suzanne, Boston, MA, 2005-11-05 Philidelphia Museum, Ben Franklin Museum were all wonderful as well as Steamtown and the Philidelphia Train Museum. Some were walkable ,others were not...The Comfort Inn in the Historic District was very old and quaint. The staff were always very pleasant and helpful. We mised having a pool to enjoy but were very busy each day out and about going to the Museums as well as Zoo !.Most things were in walking distance and the ones that were not we were either driven to by the Hotel shuttle, or we rented a car .. Dining out was fun and easily able to choose all different kinds of restaurants with different menus as well as suitable price ranges...my boyfriend and I had a lovely visit... Score 4 out of 5 The staff was not very knowledgeable Anonymous, Philadelphia, PA, 2005-10-29 It was a few blocks from the Ferry Link which we needed to take to get to The E-Center for a concert. The Comfort Inn was clean and located near where our plans for the weekend were taking place. I was not excited about the staff and their lack of knowledge. The price seemed a little high for what was offered. There was no parking garage which I was unaware of before I arrived. I did not think paying an additional $18.00 for a parking lot was worth it. Score 5 out of 5 Very confortable stay Anonymous, Baltimore, MD, 2005-10-02 Old town Phillidelphia is a short walk. Great shopping, dinning and sight seeing. The Comfort Inn - Downtown is a very nice place to stay. The Hotel staff was very friendly and the room was very clean and confortable. Score 1 out of 5 I'd give 2 stars Anonymous, Hayden, CO, 2005-10-01 Historic center of Philadelphia. As a Californian, I was first struck by the strong odor of cigarettes in the lobby. This is because the bar is contiguous with the hotel lobby. There is no restaurant in the hotel, but you can send out for pizza. The closest was about 1/4-1/2 mile away and was an upscale sportsbar. It was not open for breakfast. The hotel had a continential breakfast, which was OK, but certainly nothing that would draw me back. All pastries were the packaged variety, the coffee fair, and I was afraid to taste the OJ. As for cereal, there was a choice of dry corn flakes or packs of instant oatmeal. Staff was polite but did not go out of the way to help. Soda machine on my floor was empty the entire stay and the TV Guide was a week old. The operated a shuttle that I was able to take to my meeting 1 day (apparently it doesn't run on weekends until 4 pm). Score 4 out of 5 Close to attractions MARGARET, Washington, DC, 2005-08-27 My husband and I dined at the Moshulu...which is on Penn's Landing. The restaurant is a docked ship with high-end dining. The wine list is impressive and the food was very good. On the top deck they had a bar with small intimate tables. A very nice evening.I was interested in the activities at Penn's Landing, so the hotel was convenient to restaurants, clubs, and attractions. The rooms were nice with plenty of space. Hotel staff was very friendly. My only complaint was the charge for parking..almost $20. with no alternative that I could find. In addition I had to pay $10. at the restaurant where I chose to dine. |
